This is very puzzling, but Sherman isn’t always deaf. Lately I have noticed him react to Stanley’s barking, even in another room. But yet, you can walk up to him (while he’s awake but turned away) and scream his name to no avail. Phillip thinks he is selectively processing auditory input, I think it’s something in the air. Indeed, it’s a mystery.
