These are photos of Susan’s Jordan. I love how he has placed his elbow carelessly on the stair.

Awww….such a cutie! Love the arm drape. How suave…how debonnaire. I gave Charlie and Gigi extra hugs last night as I’m sure many of your did. He looks like he was happy and loved and that is a great gift indeed.

Laurie, thanks for bringing together such a lovely and caring community. Every one of you has helped during this difficult time, and I’m sure I’m echoing the thoughts of all those who have lost their four-legged BFF’s before us. Yes, I love the arm drape photo, too. He looks like he should have a pipe and a smoking jacket. :->

I’m so glad that back in 2008 I had professional photos taken of Josie and Jordan (since I don’t have Laurie’s great photography skills!). This link to the proofs on Joan Wheeler’s site will give all of you a true sense of Jordan’s silly and fun loving personality (Jordan is in the red collar, Josie in the turquoise): http://joanwheelerphotography.photoreflect.com/store/ThumbPage.aspx?e=4287714&g=06SF004J0F

What great pics ,Susan! I especially like the one at the far right of the first row – so playful and funny! And the arm drape shot is so precious! You will treasure these pictures always.

Those pictures are very nice. They really show the souls of your little guys.

Such sweet pictures. The expressions on their faces are priceless. What wonderful, gentle souls. So sorry for you loss, but you can see how loved they are and were.

Susan, I’m so sorry to hear about sweet Jordan. I just looked at all the pictures you had taken of them. He must have been quite a character. I cracked up watching the succession of him ‘acting up’, rolling, jumping, almost standing on Josie. Then picture #25, where he looks like he’s saying, “No, don’t take me out of the photo shoot, really…., I’ll be good, see? look how good I can be!” And then Josie appears by herself,

You and Ron gave him such a fun and loving home. I’m sure he’s bragging about you to all his new beagle friends over the bridge. Hugs for you all from Martha and Ruby. A special, big hug to Josie, too.

      Susan,
What wonderful pictures… Jordan was definitely Mr. Playful!!!!

Susan – I was very sad to read about Jordan. Thanks for posting the pictures – I agree with Martha! It looks like he had been reprimanded for being goofy and then pulled. How funny.

Take time to mourn. You’ll never stop thinking about him, but in time your thoughts will be happier memories instead of the sadness that you feel now.

      Susan and Rob,

Your photos and Joan Wheeler’s photos are all wonderful. What a pair of playbabies! I am very sorry for your loss of Jordan. Hugs to Josie, you, and Rob.

What a cutie, so sorry to hear about your loss.

  4. I love the picture with Jordan draping his arm. That dog sure knew how to pose for a picture. The ones that the professional photographer took are awesome too. Thank you Susan for sharing them.

Susan – so sorry to hear of your loss. Thanks for sharing a little bit of Jordan with all of us. It’s easy to see he was well-loved, and I’m sure when it’s time any dog will be blessed to find a forever home with you and your family.

    Such sweet pictures!

Update on Onyx- they have run bloodwork to check for a thyroid problem, and the xrays showed a large lump/tumor on her jaw, so that has been sent for a biopsy. Prayers and positive thoughts are very appreciated. I’m 700 miles away in NY spending the holiday with my family, trying to be carefree fun Aunt Amy to my 6 year old niece and 2 year old nephew, and I really just want to snuggle with Onyx and keep her safe. I know I can’t- but that’s the mommy in me.

Happy 4th of July- may everyone have a safe day!

He is a gorgeous dog. May you meet one day at that Rainbow Bridge.

Completely off topic here… Bartles the Basset has had no appetite for the last two days…. His tummy is growling like crazy…. I wonder if maybe he’s eaten an apricot or two (or three???) Bassets are like Beagles, all food all day…. Anyone have any experience with over the counter type Pepto Bismal for pups???

    • Nancy J said

You can do it. There are sites that help with dosages. Is he drinking? Is he peeing and pooping? Is the tummy extended? Please don’t let it go too long.

    • Susan in DE said

I would ensure he doesn’t have access to the apricots in your yard, and maybe give him boiled chicken and rice for a few days. I agree with Nancy J, don’t wait too long to make a decision to go to the vet, if needed.

    • harperlea said

Oh I won’t wait too long I promise (I never do cause I worry too much)….
I’ll have to check him out again when I get home….

Susan, those proofs are hilarious – I would have wanted to buy every single one. Including the one where Josie is sitting and smiling beautifully while all we see of Jordan is the end of his beagly tail.

I once had Kichwa’s portrait done at one of those mall places and in one of the shots her arm is cocked up on the chair like she owned the place. It’s our favorite picture of her.

    • Susan in DE said

Cathy, I did buy almost every one of these pictures, and put them in a sequential album, because the whole shoot was hilarious. Several others were enlarged, and if you look closely, the very last shot was the inspiration for the portrait my stepmother painted for me.

What a cutie. Love the one where Jordan is laying froggy doggy style. Why do beagles like to lay that way? Prayers and positive thoughts to Onyx from FL.

So sorry to hear about Jordan, he was a lovely boy and I’m sure he had a wonderful life. Our thoughts in England are with you Amy and Onyx. we’ll send lots of love and positive thoughts across the pond! Happy 4th July to all in the US – we hope you all have a great day! P.S. – it’s still raining in England, has hardly stopped since mid – April …….

GOOD NEWS!!!! It is just an infected lymph node- no sign of cancer. Thank you to our DD family for the love and support. I just about burst into tears of relief when Erich told me tonight.

    Enjoy the 4th!
