Another report from beagle camp…

Posted by courtneayparsons on October 18, 2010

I am happy to announce another fantastic weekend with the Kramer boys here at Beagle Camp Lawrenceville. With the cooler weather this weekend, much (MUCH) time was spent with humans and beagles huddled on the couch watching movies and football.

A Stanley blanket

A Sherman blanket

Stanley and Maggie took breaks from the huddle to play, usually with the nearby NylaBones…

Stanley smiles for the camera with his NylaBone...

...while Maggie looks on wondering whether the time is right to make a grab for Stanley's NylaBone, which is obviously far better than the one between her paws at the moment.

Sherman just watches those silly beagles from the couch. He knows that quality time with the warm humans is the way to go…

…which, as you can tell, suits me just fine!

Love it!! We’re so lucky to have wonderful camp counselors. We never worry about the boys. Thank-you Courtneay and Lance!

5 Beagles and 2 Miniature Dachshunds just spent 7 nights at Camp Grammy in Elkhart, IN so that hubby and I could take a much needed vacation. I got daily reports by phone about what angels they all were and how well they got along with the 2 resident Beagles. Yes, my 84 year old Mom had 9 hounds underfoot for a week! We arrived home Saturday night and after unloading the car, we went to relieve Tag and Tessa (Mom’s dogs) of their burden. All of the dogs get together once a week or more for play dates, so they all know each other. The only casualty of the week was one broken lamp base because of an unscheduled “Beagle Five Hundred” around Mom’s living room. She superglued it together and turned it so the repaired part now faces the wall. I still feel bad about that . . . Isn’t it great to know that we have reliable pup-sitters? And yes, we brought Mom many treasures from our trip and cash 🙂

What a warm and snuggly weekend you all had! Everybody seems so relaxed and content in the photos. (There must have been a few moments of drama and chaos, right?) Maggie has become a very gracious hostess – or is the title camp counselor more appropriate? It’s nice to know that Sherman and Stanley have become nicely comfortable at the Parsons Lawrencville Camp.

It is such a blessing to have friends and family that love our hounds as much as we do. It also makes are trips much more enjoyable!
