Talk about special walks! In Brooklyn you have to get dressed up. No mud boots here!
After walking the boys in the rain, I decided to lay down next to the fire to warm up. Next thing I knew, there was an English Mastiff who wanted scritchies. Let me tell you it’s not easy saying no to an English Mastiff who wants scritchies.

First, my sincere sympathies to Beaglemomx3 and her family on the loss of Samantha. We all know how hard it is, and we will all keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
I know I promised you a video of Stanley and Moses, but Stan seems to have chewed up the cable which connects the camera to the computer so you’ll have to wait a few days…
Our Thanksgiving was much happier than everyone looks in this photo! That’s Phillip’s mother Gitty with her great-grandson Coleman. Cole’s mom Gabrielle is on the right, and in the middle is Sherman and Maia. He glued himself onto her within minutes of arriving!

I’ve run out of calenders, envelopes, tape and envelopes! I’ll have to ask Ron to print some more, and I’ll have to go to Staples this weekend. That’s about $2500 for beagle rescue. Not bad!
Thanksgiving was great. I have the promised video of Stanley meeting Moses. It was as noisy as we anticipated but Stan calmed down for most of the day. I hope everyone had a good one!

My beagle friend Mary who is also an expert online shopper, clued me in to this mat. I couldn’t resist because it looks so much like Stanley. Don’t you think?
There will be no post on Thursday as I’ll be up to my elbows making pies today. But to compensate, I promise you a video of Stanley and Moses. I’m dreading it. Stan will go ballistic. Moses will nod and relax. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone and remember, no dark meat or skin for the doggies!

Turns out Phillip works only 15 minutes from Ron, so at lunch yesterday he drove over to pick up the calendars. Hi Ron!
I’m going to try to get them ready to ship out next Monday. It’s not too late to order!
P.S. Thanks for all the birthday wishes! That was my sister who revealed the big day in her comment yesterday. I took the day off, went running, had a massage, read on the couch with the boys. A lovely day indeed.

Maggie slept over Saturday night when her parents went to Philadelphia. Courtneay ran the Philadelphia half marathon in a great time of 2:33! Way to go, Courtneay! Maggie destuffed one and a half toys but Mr. Fox remained indestructible.
She and Stan are good buddies but I think they’re doing it wrong?

I wanted to get a shot of Stanley on the bed, to show you how (unintentionally) our new down comforter matches the boys! But the bed is where I have been putting drops into his ears for the past couple of days and he would have nothing to do with it. Pretty smart beagle. Stan was shaking his head the other night and when I stuck my fingers into his ears, one came out kind of gunky (technical term). I know you’re supposed to bring him in to see the vet, but I (unilaterally) decided that I would treat him with the same medicine as last time (a year ago). I must admit that I do not do clean the boys’ ears on a regular basis, and I should. Do you?

Phillip has been at a meeting in Atlantic City since Tuesday (arriving home today!) and so the boys haven’t had their long morning walks for two days. Stanley is a bit restless, picking up one toy after another, checking out whatever I’m doing. etc. Sherman’s fine: he just naps. But I bet he’ll be pretty excited tomorrow morning when his daddy is home and the scent of deer is in the air!

I used to be the athlete in the family. I swim 4-5 days/week and run a couple of times as well. Yesterday I did my annual “birthday swim” (a week early) which is my age * 100 yds. So I swam 5100 yards which is just shy of 3 miles. (I had a double lunch after!) But now I have some serious competition in my husband. Phillip is running, walking the boys, using the rowing machine and stationary bike, and lifting weights. He went from couch potato to jock in just a couple of months and the transformation is stunning. I’m very proud of him. He finds way to excercise, such as taking the stairs at work (even if he’s going to the 5th floor) and lately, RAKING! I capitalized that because you know how little I enjoy raking the leaves. I went shopping the other day and came back to find the lawn beautifully green and devoid of leaves. I LOVE it!

Stanley might have been sleeping on the job in yesterday’s DD but on Sunday he was the shift supervisor while Phillip installed a new frame for the doggy door. In between barking at the neighbors and sniffing everything that Phillip touched, he was one busy boy. Sherm kept busy napping. He’s such a sound sleeper because of his hearing loss that his naps go virtually uninterrupted. Kinda the same for me!
