It must be November

Posted by laurie on November 17, 2010

I used to be the athlete in the family. I swim 4-5 days/week and run a couple of times as well. Yesterday I did my annual “birthday swim” (a week early) which is my age * 100 yds. So I swam 5100 yards which is just shy of 3 miles. (I had a double lunch after!) But now I have some serious competition in my husband. Phillip is running, walking the boys, using the rowing machine and stationary bike, and lifting weights. He went from couch potato to jock in just a couple of months and the transformation is stunning. I’m very proud of him. He finds way to excercise, such as taking the stairs at work (even if he’s going to the 5th floor) and lately, RAKING! I capitalized that because you know how little I enjoy raking the leaves. I went shopping the other day and came back to find the lawn beautifully green and devoid of leaves. I LOVE it!

I’m glad for both of you–Mom is doing her physical therapy at home, and I”m doing DVD workouts. When you exercise at home, and do floorwork, do the boys try to join in? Penny loves to bounce around and kiss my face.

LOL … ah yes, if beagles are around when I’m trying to do my back stretches on the floor, I’d better be ready to get kissed and/or have Yucky Duck dropped in my face. And the more you laugh and try to fend them off, the more frantically they lick.

Laurie, what’s Phillip’s hourly leaf raking rate, and would he travel to Delaware?

I have plenty to do at my house that needs to be done that could help with his exercise goals 🙂

If you need a few extra leaves I’d be happy to contribute some!
