Where’s daddy?

Posted by laurie on November 18, 2010

Phillip has been at a meeting in Atlantic City since Tuesday (arriving home today!) and so the boys haven’t had their long morning walks for two days. Stanley is a bit restless, picking up one toy after another, checking out whatever I’m doing. etc. Sherman’s fine: he just naps. But I bet he’ll be pretty excited tomorrow morning when his daddy is home and the scent of deer is in the air!

Kramer is almost 12, and is totally content to nap each day away, but Gandolf, who is 6 and has much more energy, is so restless when I don’t take them on their walk due to rain, or me just being lazy. He get wound tighter than a spring. I am sure the boys will be glad for their walk!

What is it about those daddys? Our beagle Suzie throws a party everytime her daddy comes home after work and she is totally put out if he does not stop and love on her. When he is gone for more than a day she cries, howls and barks when the garage door opens. Those beagles show true love and devotion.

My husband has been gone for a few days of business and he NEVER goes out of town on business. Anyway, Barney sat on my lap for over an hour last night. He sure misses his Daddy. When he comes home I’ll be chopped liver again 🙂

Sherry is my girl – except when she wants a walk. Then she’s Daddy’s girl – & she sure lets him know if he isn’t moving fast enough.

I just got home yesterday afternoon from a 3 day business trip myself, and the hooting and howling reception I got from Josie and Jordan just warmed my heart (Although I suspect Josie at 10 might be starting to get a little deaf — Jordan met me at the door, but I had to go wake her up from her nap to say hi). It’s nice to be missed. :->
