Warm-up

Posted by laurie on March 21, 2011

Stretching should be an integral part of anyone’s fitness program.

The benefits of stretching include: increased flexibility and joint range of motion, improved circulation, enhanced coordination.

And stress relief. Don’t forget that one.

Love love love your boys! Too cute, and I can just feel their relief. 🙂

I’m always jealous when Spunky rolls around on her back in the grass like that……it must feel SO good!

Do they make funny noises when they do this? Mine do and it’s very funny.

You mean the little happy piggy grunting noises? Jordan also does that on the living room rug while we’re making up dog dinner ever night. Josie isn’t much of a roller, but she did spend time lying upside down in the yard this weekend, sunning her belly.

Exactly! It sounds like a pig or a bear scratching its behind. I call Miss Daisy Mae “Little Bear” when she does this. It’s so cute!

Oh yes… Baxter makes those noises too. He sounds so completely satisfied!

And then they shake, and all the ears and skin make that flapping noise, and then Jordan usually sneezes once or twice for good measure (stand clear), then there is much grinning and tail wagging.

When Spunky shakes and her ears flap, we call her “helicopter head” because it sounds like she’s taking off.

Ditto for Whisky Girl … I call her my little piglet. She makes all the noises & actions above 🙂

Yes! The grunting, happy little piggy noises describes it perfectly! These pictures made me smile. This is exactly what my Truman was doing yesterday in the park. Ah, springtime is finally here! Such funny beagle boys! Love Sherman’s “downward dog” pose, too.

Don’t you just love the way their bellies look when they roll about like that. So pudgy and cute.

They are so adorable and in unison just about every step of the way.

a sure sign of spring is a good roll in the lawn. Can’t let all those fresh spring smells go to waste…

Put them in water and it would look like synchronized swimming or a water ballet! One of ours is a roller and Sam just looks at her in disgust like it is something that happens in your aging years!

I hope they enjoyed the little taste of nice weather. Right now in Connecticut it’s raining and just a bit earlier it was snowing hard. And it’s FREEZING outside!

Don’t forget “comic relief” oh yah, guess that would be for us. LOL

They look so happy and carefree! Such precious boys (just like my two!)

Beagle pedaling: perfect images for the first day (-ish) of spring!

This was an enjoyable post. I once read an article about a scientist who was giving a lecture on yawning and stretching in animals. He said pretty soon his audience was yawning and stretching also!

We call that grass swimmin’. They do carpet swimmin’ too.
