Laziness at its best!

Posted by laurie on September 30, 2011

This was MooMoo on his lazy mode. He had this look whenever I intruded on him when he was napping away. 🙂 He left us on 26th April 2011.

With Halloween just over a month away, I thought I’d send in a picture of Scooby in his costume from last year. Since his Gotcha Day was Oct.31, 1999, I have always dressed him up every Halloween since. He has been a butterfly, a baby, a biker, a hockey player and most recently a jailbird. When kids come to our door for candy they always get a kick out of Scooby in his costume. I haven’t decided what he will dress up as this year, I just might put him in the Hawaiian shirt I picked up for him in the Dominican Republic last winter. (I got matching shirts for Scooby and my husband…you know, matching father-son shirts!)

Amy (Cobalt & Onyx’s Mom) writes:

Cobalt is such a pretty dog, and an unusual color for a beagle. He is a blue beagle. He is a purebred, and he is actually a tri-color (gray, white and a little tan). He’s not very fond of having his picture taken, so I have a lot of ‘grumpy old men’ looks. But this is one of my favorite pictures of him. He hates the rain. If it is raining and he goes near the doggie door, he backs away and runs and hides. But snow? That’s a different story! He LOVES snow. I’ve tried explaining to him that it is basically frozen rain, but he’s not convinced. This picture is a few years old, but the look of joy on his face is just adorable.

Heads of State

Posted by laurie on September 26, 2011

First, check it out! The man that Phillip (wearing a red tie) is looking at is Ernest Koroma, the President of Sierra Leone. I kid you not! Unbeknownst to me, our town has a quite sizable population of people from that country and he spent the weekend here during his recent trip to the United Nations in NYC. Phillip was there as a Councilman and is standing next to the Mayor. It was very moving to hear his many supporters sing the Sierra Leone national anthem, immediately followed by the Star Spangled Banner.

Second, in the Lyme department: Stanley also has it and we’re waiting on bloodwork because his urinalysis showed his urine to be a little too dilute. Sherm’s is fine. They’re both on antibiotics, and for once the pills are small enough to hide in their food.

And third, I’ve extended the Guest DDs through another week! I still couldn’t get to everyone but ten more are on the way.
