Poor Puna! “Sharbeag” reminds me of a very unfortunate looking dog I saw a few months ago, it was actually a Sharpei crossed with a Puggle (and the woman said it was intentional — puppy mill, anyone?). It was basically a tall leggy beagle body, a Sharpei head, and a reddish fawn Pug coat. There was nothing cute about that (but it was a happy dog, and the owner loved it, so I guess that makes it okay??)

I think Shargle would also be a good name for a beagle/charpei cross.

Awww, Puna is definitely a good sport! Very cute! If there’s one trait a beagle has an overabundance of, it’s patience. My Scooby is the same.

Great expression. Puna is adorable. Fortunately, our beagles have been very tolerant. We love to mess with their extra skin, especially Eddy’s big dewlap. He usually looks at us and gives a huge SIGH.

The pictures look so much better on my computer than on my phone!!!
Puna is a cutie… love the expression… I too, squoosh up Whisky’s face once in a while… and squoosh her little fat ankles…
And I love the little grunting piggy sighs Whisky gives me….

    Puna is definitely a wonderful Beag… Pei…. Gle-Pei? Whatever, she’s CUTE!!!

Puna is a very good sport! He’s a rescue dog that will do anything for attention and affection. When we first brought him home, he would constantly nudge our hands with his head to be pet. If we ever started petting our other beagle, Samwise, Puna would get up immediately and come across the room for petting as well. 🙂

I have to admit that I’ve done that myself with poor Miss Scarlett, my beagle. She looked equally thrilled with the result.
