Cobalt

Amy (Cobalt & Onyx’s Mom) writes:

Cobalt is such a pretty dog, and an unusual color for a beagle. He is a blue beagle. He is a purebred, and he is actually a tri-color (gray, white and a little tan). He’s not very fond of having his picture taken, so I have a lot of ‘grumpy old men’ looks. But this is one of my favorite pictures of him. He hates the rain. If it is raining and he goes near the doggie door, he backs away and runs and hides. But snow? That’s a different story! He LOVES snow. I’ve tried explaining to him that it is basically frozen rain, but he’s not convinced. This picture is a few years old, but the look of joy on his face is just adorable.

    What a gorgeous boy, Amy!
It’s so great to see all the pretty beagles out there!
(I don’t know how many pictures you received Laurie, but it must’ve been tough to choose!)

I love that you matched his name to his colour! And the flipped back ear, and the straight up tail made me smile! So cute!

I’m glad you got to see your baby on the DD, Amy. He looks so happy.

Thanks Laurie for putting our Dexter’s pic on the DD. For everyone wondering how I got him to stay while I took his pic, I said you stay there till I get the camera. He’s just a good boy, he’s so good we call him Dexter the good. You should see the pic where he is wearing a watch cap. It is so cute. But then aren’t they all…..

What a darling! You can almost see the happy wiggle coming out of him. Beautiful fellow.

(Totally love the flopped ear look…usually accompanied by dancing feet. :))

Thank you Laurie! This made my day.

Thanks for the comments on my baby. As for the name- yes, it was intentional. 🙂 When we adopted Cobalt I was a manager in a jewelry store. Several of Erich’s degrees are in geology- so we both kind of like gems and things. We thought about Sapphire, but that sounded too girly. So Cobalt it was, and then we had to explain to everyone what cobalt was! When we brought Onyx home, she was jet black with a little brown, so we kept the theme going…

What a cutie, I love the color — and the “amber” eyes (staying with the gem theme).

Love that picture!! He is so cute. Can’t wait to see how our new beagle Judy likes the snow. She is a year old and we got her from a shelter so she has been through one winter but this will be her first with us. Beagles are so cute when they romp in snow, ears flapping and tail wagging. So precious.

What a cutie. I love that his tongue is sticking out – especially since you said he doesn’t like having his picture taken. It looks like he is sticking his tongue out at the camera!!!

Love how happy Cobalt looks. He’s beautiful. Plus, my degree is in geology, I appreciate Cobalt and Onyx. We went with an astronomical theme..Halley, Hubble, Magellan and Cassiopeia. My daughter named Eddy, not sure how to make that fit.

Perhaps it’s a good thing you didn’t continue it with your daughter…. since Halley was already taken! 🙂 I like the astronomical theme.

Ready for it to start snowing again, tongue out and ready to catch any snowflakes that may come within catching distance. Good boy!

Ha ha yeah it looks like Cobalt’s ready to catch snowflakes on his tongue! Simply adorable!
