Who’s the good boy?

Posted by laurie on October 4, 2011

I don’t normally go for beagles up on the kitchen counter, especially with drill bits sticking out all over. But it’s more than worth it for that expression on Stanley’s face.

LOL! That is so funny. And SO familiar. Not the counter part. We have a smaller counter. LOL!

Stanley looks just about as out of place as a Beagle on ice. 🙂 Look at his legs flailing!

Sherman has spotted a plate with food!

Ruby’s legs do that on our hardwood floors when she has a running start from the carpet.

Also, my mom passed away Thursday. We had her funeral yesterday and it was filled with music. She and my dad were musicians, daddy played the oboe and we had an oboeist from our symphony play at the service. It was sad, but she had been disabled for a long time and she’s now with the love of her life, my dad, who has been gone for 31 years. All my family fell in love with Ruby and threatened to hid her in their suitcases.

I’m so sorry Martha but also glad that you had such a wonderful and supportive service to say goodbye. It’s nice to think of them happy and whole again and it does ease the pain a bit. It never really leaves, but it eases it some. Ruby probably made everything just a touch better for all. Glad you have her!

Sorry for your loss Martha. What a nice tribute with the oboeist playing at the service. I’m go glad that they are together again. Our beagles do seem to help take some of the sting away and help ease our pain.

I am sorry for your loss. It sounds like a lovely service, and a perfect way to remember both your parents. I know they are in Heaven making all sorts of beautiful music together again. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Martha, Sorry to hear about your loss. It never makes it “okay” Nothing can. But it sounds like your mom is indeed in a better place. Our pets do help, after all they are our friends.

My condolences, Martha. It’s true – our four-legged babies offer more comfort than we realize during hard times.

They most certainly do. I am so sorry for your loss, Martha. I lost my dad after an incredibly quick battle with cancer, in January. I hugged my Kramer for hours. My husband too, 🙂 but Kramer as well. With deepest sympathy, Kate Meddaugh, and my boys.

My girl Lily “Loaf of Bread” Beagle (she’s a part of the West Coast branch of the Gambino crime family) has some advice for Stanley and Shermie: wait until Mom and Dad leave the kitchen to go for the bread on the counter.

Martha, my condolences on your mother’s passing. It sounds like you had a beautiful service .I’ve found that nothing dries tears better than beagle ears.

Or, do like Brady did Wednesday night after supper and go onto the lanai and jump onto the patio table and proceed to help himself to the leftovers that were in the process of being brought into the house!!!

Shredded cheese? Power tools? Is that mustard that Phillip is attempting to open? It has me wondering what you folks had for dinner.

I see you have a bag of Sargento cheese on the counter. It’s made in Plymouth, WI, about 8 miles from our house!
