Mr. Man and the Scootie-Patootie

Posted by laurie on October 20, 2011

This was taken the same day as the one of Clayton from last Thursday. It was 2000 so Scooter was about two, and Spenser was about five. (Gosh that’s a long time to be putting up photos!)

And speaking of photos, I’d love to see your suggestions for the calendar. Next week I’ll post a signup for special days, and also the payment information.

I just finished Jon Katz’s book “Going Home” about grieving the loss of pets. Your dogs have been like family to me. I can remember each passing and the tears I shed at my desk. Thank you for sharing your family with us.

    What a sweet picture.

I wish the year had 100 months so the beagle calendar could have more pictures!

    Awwww, what a sweet picture!!!!

    Yay calendars….
Neat to see pictures if the original three…

I too have laughed, cried, and said “awww” over the years .

Am missing my Whisky Girl so much… I pick her up and bring her home for good tomorrow.

I know how you feel, Harper. We have done that with two beagles and four cats. All you can do is picture them happy and free across the Bridge and waiting for you someday . . .

Oh Harper…I’m crying at work again. It is so hard that moment when they hand you an urn and your heart says, “How can so much wonder be left as just this?” at the same time as you are so glad to have them safely with you again. Very hard moment.

      We’re with you in spirit.

I remember the day we picked up Hoover like it was yesterday. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Hugs my friend.

Love that we are held together by floppy ears:)

Can’t wait for the calendar, can the print be darker? These old eyes are old.hahahaha.

Thank you to everyone involved in producing the calendar esp the calendar pups!

Harper we are so sorry about Whisky Girl. We have been where you are too many times. These wonderful friends will live on in all of our hearts. Hugs.

I’m so sorry Harper! It is so hard to lose your beloveds but a tiny bit of comfort knowing they are back home. Sending peaceful and loving thoughts your way.

Scooter and Spenser look so adorable together and it’s hard to believe how many years have gone by.

Harper, my thoughts are with you. I have 5 little boxes lined up on our dresser containing the ashes of the pups we have had to say good-bye to. Some think we are strange, but I couldn’t think of any other place I would rather have my pups. They are home, they are close, and I can talk to them any time I want.

I lost my 21 year old cat over the summer and i remember picking up her ashes. A very difficult time indeed. I have created a little memorial for her in my bedroom. The vet where she was put to sleep makes clay paw prints. I had that made. What a wonderful rememberance. It even has little pieces of fur mixed in to make it extra special.

Me too….it’s like a large extended family held together by floppy ears.

Would love to see the calendar with small pictures in the boxes that don’t correspond to days…you know those empty ones at the beginning and end. We could have a lottery of pictures sent in and Laurie can select from a box or something. One per dog or family or something.

That would be fun since we could all see each other’s little cuties.

I really enjoy seeing the Clayton Original Boys (COB). They both look so young! And scoot has that sweet little “” face on.

Before I read the caption, I was thinking, hey that looks like Scooter and Clayton…and was even more thrilled once I read it. While I love love love the pics of Sherm and Stan, I definitely miss seeing Scootie, Mr. Man, and Sir on a daily basis. Thanks for posting Laurie!

The Borders books store finally closed in my neighborhood and everything went on sale, including a beagle calendar my husband came home with. I forgot to remind him about the Daily Dig calendar. We can’t return it, so we’ll just have to put it in another room. We have this year’s Daily Dig calendar in the kitchen and everyone who sees it just falls in love with the Kramer Beagles! (I mean how can you not!)

Beautiful boys, it is always nice to see pictures of Clayton, Spencer and Scooter. You can tell who is in charge in this photo!

Scootie reminds me so much of Jordan, personality-wise (well, even though I never met Scooter).
What beatiful hounds! Just this morning I was actually remeniscing about this photo: and also this one:

Laurie, you must have read my mind. :->

Susan, thank you (and you too Laurie!) for cracking me up!

Harper, as others have said, we are with you in spirit, joined by the bonds of floppy ears and goofy faces.
