Where did I put my reading glasses?

Posted by laurie on November 15, 2011

Packing seems to be far less anxiety provoking to the beagles when no scuba gear is involved. Phillip is going to a meeting in Atlantic City. That’s the Las Vegas of New Jersey and hopefully he’ll play some blackjack and make us wealthy beyond our dreams.

Does Stanley detect something potentially edible in the bottom of the suitcase?

An empty baggie! Next best thing!

Too cute! Maybe they know that Laurie’s staying home because there’s only one suitcase????

I just gotta say it again. Going to the site each morning with my cuppa Joe, looking at the pictures with the captions makes my day. Thanks, Laurie, Phillip, Stanley, Shermie, and their brothers in Heaven. Thanks for your efforts!

When my dogs find a plastic bag that once held food they rip it to shreds, looking for that one last crumb.

I love that Sherman is like ‘I’m going too!’ I also thought maybe Stanley isn’t looking for something, but burying something special for Phillip to take with him.

We’re about to drag out the luggage for a 5-day trip to San Diego, and I’m dreading the sad faces that will turn up as soon as I start packing. I wish I had a Kamp Kramer out here!

Don’t we love the games our beagles play? Everything is potentially edible until proven otherwise. . . or in the case at our house, EVERYTHING is edible!

Just want to smooch Sherman. And totally love Stanley, he is always into something or looking for something to get into.

Will you just look at little Shermie’s face? Even his ears look sad to see the packing.

We have to try to hide the suitcases from our beagle when we are packing/going on a trip, especially as for us, it can mean moving to another country (with the beagle of course). He finds it very stressful, as it means a change to his routine is coming. I realized recently that, as a result, I actually tense up too when I bring out a suitcase, even when the dog is not around.

We have to make someone packing a joyous time. Otherwise our guys get stressed out too. They do get so upset with a slight change of routine though!

Heidi used to try to unpack anything that was packed. Put something in the suitcase, she’d take it immediately out and hide it.

Ok this photo of Phillip packing has got to be on the 2013 calendar! Can’t wait to get the 2012 one. Yay!
