Tango romeo echo alpha tango sierra

Posted by laurie on January 30, 2012

Stanley has declared this the “helicopter free zone.” What a nice coincidence that it’s adjacent to the treat cabinet!

Can you have a chopper airlift some kibble into his bowl? You know how hungry beagles are when they aren’t eating every minute.

Neither of my dogs would be in the same zip code as that helicopter. I saw one at the park yesterday but it was while I was doing my run, so no beagles in attendance. I thought as I chugged by the kid operating it that it was a good thing Senor Gomez was not with me.

I’d never thought to use the NATO phonetic alphabet around the dogs, that’s brilliant! Now I can talk about taking Josie and Jordan for a Whiskey-Alpha-Lima-Kilo right in front of them, hours before I plan on actually doing it. :->

After more than 25.5 years in the military (and still going) that comes naturally at my house.

    The problem…

…after a few years, my dogs have figured it out!

Now when I say Whiskey..they get all excited waiting for Alpha.

When I say Tango…they get excited waiting for Romeo.

    Too cute. 🙂

I just start putting on my sneakers and that starts mine dancing for joy. I hate having to disappoint them by walking out the door by myself.

We also say Whiskey Alpha Lima Kilo. And for some reason, we have many opportunities to say Charlie Foxtrot!

LOL! Beagle goings-on usually aren’t bad enough to require that. Around here, Charlie Foxtrot is more frequently used to describe situations at work (even if we’re in the corporate rather than military sector).
