Sherman snores the loudest of us all

Posted by laurie on April 30, 2012

Though no planning was involved, Phillip and I did tag-team napping yesterday afternoon. For a couple of hours one of us was sleeping and the other was resting up for our next nap. The weather was gorgeous and I spent a good deal of time out on the Taj Mah Patio, just looking at all the flowers and green.

Next Saturday we’re hosting a beaglefest. If I’ve not emailed you, please consider yourself invited and drop me a note for details. It’s from 1-4 PM on May 5th.

There is truly nothing better than snuggling with a Beagle. I snuggle with Kramer often, and he always lets out this huge sigh of contentment. I echo the sentiment.
Have an awesome time at Beaglefest! Post lots of pictures, please!!

That is such a huggable picture!

  3. Trumbo snores. Loudly. So loud that we have to make him shift his position. He gets annoyed and growls, but it’s the funniest noise he makes and not scary at all. So we just tell him that he’s not scaring us and to change his position. He always does and just disappears under the covers.

Love the snuggle bug pic 🙂

  5. Calendar worthy ! This is such a cute picture.

So jealous! Spunky is not really a snuggler, though she will lay on my feet.

On a separate note – our occasional backyard rabbits made a nest about 10 paces from our back door while we were on vacation the last two weeks. So far Spunky has left it alone, but I’m afraid when the babies come out (if they survive – my husband kind of messed with the nest before he knew what it was) she’ll think they are cool new squeaky toys. Any suggestions on how to handle the situation?

    • Chances are – if the babies have not been born yet, Mom will make another nest some where else- more safe- if she senses Spunky anywhere near. Best way to keep critters of your yard is to have a dog or two. Rabbits are very descructive to gardens and all yard vegetation. The are fuzzy and cute – but VERY hungry. Good luck.

This is the sweetest photo! Beagles really are the best snuggle bugs. Their compact little bodies just fit perfectly into a “nook.” They both look so content here.

Henry snores VERY loudly at times. When he’s positioned his head right beside mine on the pillow it can get rather annoying, but if I wait long enough he quiets down. Cody burrows under the covers, but when he gets too warm (or feels a cat walk over him on top of the covers), he jumps out of bed. He then usually comes right over to the side of the bed and swipes his paw on the bed over and over until I finally get up and boost him back onto the bed. (He can jump on the bed by himself, but I think he just likes being boosted!) When this happens several times in a night I can feel it the next day when I find myself falling asleep at my computer by 1 PM!

Phillip is demonstrating the absolute best sleeping position ever.

The first night we had our newest beagle Mr. Peabody, I woke in the middle of the night and was able to make out four different snores: Gomez, Lily, Mr. Peabody and Captain Greg (the latter emitting a human snore).

I’m firmly convinced that Sherminator is some sort of alien prototype of the perfect dog that, through sweetness, will fully and totally subjugate all humans and make them ready for domination by said alien species.

It’s the only explanation for him. Really. 😉

    Beyond cute.
Just what I needed on this Monday morning start to what I think may be another hellish week….

I don’t mind dogs snoring; I think it’s cute. What I do mind is when one of the dogs spends 45 minutes loudly licking his pee-pee!

I remember many evenings taking a nap with my Alex. He only snored when he was really, really sound asleep. The thing is, I hadn’t even thought much about that as it has been 5 years since we had him put to sleep and this was a good jog of my memory tonight 🙂

Love this picture. True love. Eddy has to sleep up against me, I think it reassures him. I love his little snores, it reassures me 🙂
