Party’s over

Posted by laurie on May 7, 2012

This sums up the day after a beaglefest: soda cans and tired beagles. It was a great party. There were about 30 people and Phillip counted 27 dogs.

I’ve known Karen S. (right) for years but this was the first time I’d met Susan in DE!

And I also met Audrey-Mom Of Buddy & Holly In NJ. What fun to put faces to names! Audrey was just one of the many guests who allowed Sherman in the house so that they could rub his tummy.

Audrey took this photo of Phillip and a bunch of beagles who wanted in on the 6′ sub sandwich. Hard to blame them, it was delicious.

Wow- great pictures! It IS fun to be able to put faces with names! I envy those of you who were able to attend the beaglefest. Alas, I was here in Wisconsin the whole time. The closest Cody and Henry got to a beaglefest was going to the dog park, where they met and played with a dog who was part beagle and part springer spaniel!

    • Where in Wisconsin do you live ? I grew up there and that is where I was when I decided to get my first beagle.

I have a suggestion for an upcoming Daily Digital. Since it’s been fun today seeing pictures of people who often blog on the DD (such as Karen S, Susan in DE, and Audrey), we should send pix to Laurie of ourselves AND our beagles together! Laurie – what do you think?

  2. Thank you Laurie and Phillip. It was a fun party. There were so many wonderful beagles. I lost sight of my two “kids”, many many times, but I always knew that they were safe and having a good time with all of the other “kids”. They were running around so fast – the black, tan and white were just a blurr at times. I think that is a picture of my little guy- Buddy standing in front of Phillips left leg. It was such a pleasure meeting Sherman and Stanley – oh and Phillip and Laurie also. I agree that it was nice to put faces with names. I am lucky that I left with only the beagles I came with. I was tempted to adopt BeBe and Sherman is such a sweetie- I could have just swept him up and carried him home with me.

Phillip was trying to convince Laurie they should adopt one or two more … especially the one who made himself at home on the sofa with Stan and Sherm at the end of the event. :->

Looks and sounds like such a great time! It is nice to put some faces to names. What could be better than being surrounded by 27 Beagles?

How fantastic! It is neat to put faces to names. Looks like a great time was had by all.
Wish the Lash Pack could have attended… I could only imagine what trouble our crazy pups would’ve gotten into….

We’re so sorry we missed it! I’m determined to turn our beagle-fest luck around next year! Looks like everyone had a fantastic time.

It was a wonderful event, even though I unfortunately wasn’t able to bring my two beagles along (Jordan just doesn’t have the energy for something like this, and Josie had to stay home and keep him company since Rob was also out for the whole day – and she was doped up on meds for allergies). It was so great to get to meet Clan Kramer along with so many beagles and beagle people. And the tri-colored blur was hilarious, it was just chase after chase after chase.

Oh, and my dog t-shirt says, “This is hard to ask, but I have to know … Am I adopted?” :->

Is there anything better than watching a bunch of beagles play? We would have been there if we didn’t live so far away (San Antonio – home of the SPURS!) Looks like a great time was had by all.

Thanks very much for this fantastic beaglefest, Laurie and Phillip! We all had a wonderful time, and the dogs are still sleeping it off!

Wow – it looks like you had a great time! Nothing like a pack of hounds to put a smile on your face.

Woohoo! It IS great to put faces with names. Looks like you all had a great time with the hounds. I gotta say, 27 beagles is a LOT of arooo.

I agree that it’s great putting faces with names. Hopefully there will be more pictures of the Beaglefest coming.
Sounds like everyone had a great time. Wish I could have been there.

We had a wonderful time! We really enjoyed watching and hearing the beagles run and run and run! I think arooo must mean “bunny” in beagle language. It was such a pleasure to see our beagles running around like a bunch of indians. Molly, Bella, and Kayla all passed out for the car ride home. It was geat to see everybody again too! Thanks Phillip and Laurie!!!! You guys are special people!

      • Chuck and Barb – you almost lost Kayla to me and my son. She just loved his lap and he loved her right back. What a sweet girl. It was fun meeting you and your ” indians” !

      • Chuck and Barb said

Ha! Kayla is a sweetheart! She just finished an obedience class and did surprisingly well for a beagle. She was tested for k9 good citizen certificate, but she crawled up my leg when told to stay!!! We are working on that! It,s hard to be stern with her!

And a bird dog and a terrier!

Love this. Makes me miss our two furbabies. Time to get them home from doggy camp, as my husband’s asking after them and misses them, too.
