Buy, buy, buy

Posted by laurie on May 18, 2012

Happy Facebook IPO day! We’re hoping to get a few shares from our stockbroker and become fabulously wealthy so that we can quit our day jobs and retire. I’ll keep you posted.

Update! We own 25 shares of Facebook! Working on my retirement letter!

Woohoo – 25 shares is good! My colleagues and I (Silicon Valley high-tech geeks) spent half the day yesterday talking about the FB IPO and how many shares we think we can get. We can’t wait to PIR (phone in rich) 😉

    Good luck to all…

I can barely access my facebook account 🙂

  4. On the IPO yesterday FB priced at 38 – it started trading today around 11 am and is currently at 41.02
My whole life yesterday seemed like it was centered around clients wanting in on the IPO. Clients were limited to 500 shares per account. God am I glad yesterday is over with 🙂

I was working at Hyperion when then had an IPO and I bought at $12.00 a share!

Karen S., we’ll have to chat offline — my sister does Hyperion consulting.

Back in 1998, I was working for a financial services company that ended up pulling the plug on their IPO the day before it was going to happen, because back then everyone thought financial services was dead and .com was going to rule the world!(Remember From IPO to bankruptcy in 9 months, but boy was that sock puppet cute!).
