What’s going on? We have nothing today?

    We *always* have something. 🙂

Nothing of note here … incredibly busy at work, and my in-laws arrived Sunday for a week long visit. They’re great, but our house is small. Josie is incredibly happy because she has people willing to pet her all day long and treat her like the princess she is (except they don’t give out treats, but she’s working on that). Jordan is glad to see them as well, but he had a really “down” weekend. He barely ate for several days, but rallied a bit last night and had some Boston Market meatloaf. He was perkier after that, but he is starting to look really skinny now. Watching an older and/or ill beagle’s slow decline is hard, but he’s content and has a great quality of life, so we’re just all enjoying him for as long as we have him.

*HUGS* (It seemed like you needed one… sorry it’s so late). My beags love it when my parents come to visit. They get treats galore! My sister is very strict with her dogs and won’t let them have people food often, but I am less strict. I did have to tell my Dad ‘Potato chips are NOT appropriate treats for the dogs’. His response was ‘They ate them’. They’re beagles, they’ll EAT anything. 🙂 Onyx likes the company much the same as Josie does- more people to worship her.

The thing of note here in England is that it has finally stopped raining!!! We’ve had about six weeks of almost continual rain but today it’s about 70 degrees and brilliant sunshine! The weathermen say it’s due to stay like this until at least the weekend, so we’re all drying out nicely now . I was beginning to think Michael and me and the Beagles were going to get webbed feet!

Susan. we all send a kiss to Jordan and hope he continues to enjoy life for a while longer yet!

Hi everyone. Gandolf and our cats continue to do well. Kramer, well, I must agree with Susan and poor Joradan, that we continue to see an old Beagle’s decline as well. We’re doing the absolute best we can to provide a good quality of life for Kramer, but we are now at the point in which his daily living, really isn’t quality. But, he still enjoys a walk now and again, he recognizes us, he wags, but eating is beginning to be a pain. No more dog food will Kramer eat, and he’s starting to turn his nose at most human food. He had BK this am for breakfast. I don’t know. It’s just so hard trying to provide the best you can, to see that Cancer continues to win. I hate this disease. I absolutely hate it. My dad died from it a year and 3 months ago, and my dog is dying from it now. Sorry – don’t mean to be pessimisstic, but it’s hard when you can’t help your best friend in the world. 😦
On a brighter note, literally for Julie, I can appreciate enjoying the sun, after months of not really seeing it. Our winters are long here in upstate NY and I “worship” the sun when it’s out. 🙂

My Dad died of cancer too Kate, so I know how you feel about it. To see a little dog dying of it must be appalling, I can only imagine how you feel.

I’m so sorry about little Kramer. My dear Benny declined in the same way, and eventually eating became a big issue. It’s very hard. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending you a hug too. Curious- where in ‘Upstate’? I grew up outside of Albany.

Rochester, NY. Born and raised, and still hanging out there. 🙂

Last week I touted that we cancelled the paper and don’t miss it. Yesterday we received an offer to subscribe for $30 for 2 years. We were paying $18 a month so we could cancel after 2 months and be ahead. Better than buying Face Book stock (oops).

Anyone familiar with advertising knows that ad rates are based on paid subscriptions and I guess the local paper doesn’t care about subscription revenue only ad revenue

So no beagle content. Thinking about sending a check for $30. What do you think?

Well, Luana has Henry at the vet right now getting his anal glands expressed, and Cody is going crazy thinking they went somewhere fun without him.

For Kramer and Jordan’s Moms….huge hugs to you.

It is SO hard to see them decline like that. The big C and every other disease that takes them from us are just cruel diseases.

Two cats died of cancer, one stomach and one breast. Horrible diseases and trying to figure out *when* the quality of life isn’t there is so very hard. We waited too long with Midi, who I had since she was just a couple of days old. By the time we realized all these surgeries and procedures weren’t doing it, we had lost that girl who loved life so much. She was a shadow of her former self. To this day I feel bad because I waited to long to let her go.

I didn’t make that same mistake with Boscoe, when he left he never knew anything was wrong. All the happiness of his life was intact.

I feel so for you both. This is so hard. Try to smile when you can and love them without regret!

Thanks, Christy. It is so hard to know when the time is to put them down. Don’t be so hard on yourself. We love them so much. Thank you for your kind words.
