Can you hear me know?

Posted by laurie on May 23, 2012

Phillip was never much of a telephone talker until he entered politics, at which point he went throttle up and full speed ahead. His favorite place to talk is in the car (hands-free!) and often when he gets home he’s not done with the conversation so he continues it outside. Which looks a little like he’s conducting because he always talks on speaker phone. Phillip! Dinner’s ready!

Actually he looks like he’s singing, and the beags are mooning him.

LOLOL to what Karen said. It *does* look *exactly* like that is what is going on.

Phillip, you are getting the Beagle Butt Brigade Salute!

    I agree – perfect description!

On a separate note – didn’t I read something here once about mulch being potentially harmful to dogs? Because of some of the components? Please refresh my memory……thanks.

CHOCOLATE mulch is harmful to dogs. Because of its flavor, of course, they will try to eat it. Other types of mulch are not (to my knowledge) harmful to them.

Our vet recently had to perform surgery on a dog (non-beag) because it ate mulch- I don’t think it was chocolate mulch, just regular mulch. It got lodged in the intestines I think. Her recommendation to all of her clients was keep the dogs away from mulch.

Ha! My beags go nuts if I continue a conversation while sitting in my car in the driveway. They can hear me, and they start joining in.

Barely related: I was on a late night conference call last week with some folks in Australia. While on the call one of the Aussies’ doorbell rang, and my dogs heard it and of course responded with a chorus of rooooing. Everyone on the con call laughed and laughed about the dogs in California barking at the doorbell ringing in New South Wales.

  5. I went to see a movie last night that has just come out : Darling Companion- It stared Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline. It is about a woman who recues a dog on the highway and keeps him, much to the protest of her husband. The husband ends up losing the dog because he is talking on his cell phone and not paying attention to the dog. Boy- is Diane Keaton pissed – because she has grown to love the dog more than the husband ! Just a warning to Phillip ,,,,, just saying………..

I heard about that movie and want to see it! Did you know they are doing a movie based on the book “A dog’s purpose”?

Actually, when I saw this picture, my imagination has Phillip using his phone to communicate to the boys (wearing their “speaker collars”)–coaching them on their latest bunny hunt. “No guys, I think he went into the thicket a little bit more to your right.”

Yeah, that movie looks good. I haven’t seen a movie in a theater since Rover was a pup. No pun intended.

It does look like he’s conducting! “Bring it up a bit on the bays, beagle section!”

Okay, is the “know” supposed to be a pun I’m missing?

Damn, I hate the fact that I can’t read without my freelance editing eyes…

Okay. Elvis just set me to the corner for a time out.

I normally suffer from editing eyes too, but totally missed this until you pointed it out, Tam! 🙂
