Cheesy garlic bread

Posted by laurie on June 18, 2012

My cousin’s kidney stone turned into a septic infection which landed her in the ICU for two days. She is much better now but still hospitalized and that’s where I spent much of the weekend. On Saturday night, Uncle Bob came over and graciously offered to make dinner: linguine with mussels and shrimp, and cheesy garlic bread. I don’t know which was better, that garlic bread or the fact that Aunt Nancy did ALL the cleaning up after dinner. I didn’t have to touch a thing. This photo was of course from earlier in the evening when the hor d’oeuvres were served. I’ll explain the cooler in the middle of the kitchen later this week.

Ahh…the intensity of a Beagle gaze when there are carbs involved….:)

You have neighbors from heaven! Hope your cousin is feeling better.

Nah, doesn’t have to be carbs … anything they perceive as edible will get that kind of intensity. It took me a while yesterday to convince Josie that she really didn’t want the nail clippers I was holding.

On another note, Happy 6th Gotcha Day to our Jordan! We got him on 6/18/06, and he was about 9 or 10 at the time, so he’s in the 15 to 16 year range now. With his CRF, I really didn’t think we’d see this day, so we’re loving him for every moment we still have with him (He’s not been so good the past few days, but we’re still here for him!).

  4. Happy Gotcha Day Jordan !

There’s nothing unusual about a cooler in the middle of any room, especially when your in the cooler business. You don’t want to know how many coolers I have just in the kitchen. Ha ha.

In Australia, coolers (or eskys) in the kitchen are th norm. How else do you keep the beer (or diet mountain dew) cold when the fridge is full of food?
