That toy hanging in thin air is a Kong Wubba and it was given to us by Susan from DE when she came to the beaglefest in May. Thanks again, Susan! I was wrong! Who gave the boys this great toy? I”m sorry I forgot!

Have you EVER seen a more ferocious beagle in all your life?

Looks like Philip and the boys are doing a Wubba dance! Cody and Henry never seem to care much for toys, so I don’t buy them anymore. The only toy they like is the small Kong that I fill with canned food every morning as a treat. They also have a Kong Wobbler that I fill with Charlie Bears. They like to knock it around and get the goodies out.

Henry had a tooth removed yesterday at the vet. All went well and I brought him home last evening. They said to keep him in a nice, quiet environment for a while. He wanted to go out in the yard with Cody immediately, so I put them out on their leashes. Of course, they chased each other and barked at a vicious squirrel up a tree!

I thought I would have a problem with the canned food. They usually get dry food in the AM and canned food in the PM, but for the next week or so Henry is to have canned food for EVERY meal. This morning I gave Cody his dry food and got Henry into another room for the canned. I thought Cody would refuse the dry food and insist on canned like Henry was having, but he did eat the dry food. Of course – with beagles, food is food!

Just looked at the pix of Kramer and the other library dogs from yesterday. So glad to see that Kramer felt good enough to go to work and pose for pictures! Also enjoyed the comments, especially about the fines and guard dogs on duty and the ones about the dogs reminding them of their co-workers!

  2. Seriously Laurie – give up your day job and become a full time photographer. I love how you catch action shots. I have a beagle a day calendar that I paid $12 for – that pales in comparison to your photos. I really think that you should put out a doggie a day calendar for 2013 and market it world wide. These photos are the greatest. Thank you so much for taking the time to post all of these pictures. It really makes my day.

I think this is a great idea too! You have probably some of the best shots ever taken of Beagles in their natural habitat…aka kings of the universe. You could sell it on Cafe press or something like that. Maybe at Amazon. The proceeds for rescue would be a boon indeed. I would buy them for all my friends. Whether they wanted them or not!

I agree Audrey. Laurie is the master (mistress?) of action shots!

Love the photos! But I cannot take credit for the gift of the Wubba, that was not from me. I brought lots of dog treats and the “Top Dog” beagle mug. So, now we have a mystery to solve … who gave the Wubba to the Kramer pack????

The second picture is THE BEST EVER!! Love it!

On a related note, we just met with our insurance agent to review our coverage. When we mentioned that we had a dog, she asked if he has a bite history. I laughed and told her we had a beagle – the only danger is losing a finger when giving out treats. She might not have believed me if she saw this picture of ferocity!

I think, your ferocious beagle looks like a mini t-rex in that position.

  12. These pics are great. I had a beagle (Buddy) Who would do the same thing to catch his toys. he would catch footballs with his front legs and make that same face. lol. Very cute pics!
