Henry and Ralphie

Last year I bought pirate hats (at PetSmart for half price two days before Halloween!), hoping the boys would pose long enough for me to get some decent pictures. Cody, of course, had the hat off and was chewing the daylights out of it five seconds after I put it on him. Henry, however, was more cooperative. I got this shot of him as he was trying to crawl into my lap and attempting to understand what that thing was that I put on his head. I think he wore it another minute or two before he followed Cody’s example.

Our beagle, Ralphie, has a Mr. Fox, too. He was 11 on Sept. 11 and nothing makes me happier than to see him play. He and his German Shepherd sister, Roxi, have a few playing bursts a day. Just wanted to share a funny picture I caught of Ralphie with his Mr. Fox. There is also one of Ralphie’s human brother, Todd, trying to snag Mr. Fox. He didn’t get it, by the way. HAHA Ralphie loves to grab toys and run under the kitchen or dining room tables because Roxi can’t fit under them. Thank you for all of the smiles and awwww’s over the years.

Love the feisty expression on Ralphie’s face as he plays with Mr. Fox. Cody and Henry have a Mr. Raccoon, but that stays in the toy basket all of the time (it’s not food or an interesting smell, so why bother?)

Thank you, Laurie, for posting Henry’s picture in his Halloween hat. And thanks for all the work you do in sharing all the beagle pix (yours and all the rest). It is truly appreciated and enjoyed!

Henry looks like he is just begging me to come over there, give him a hug, take off the offending hat and then provide COOKIES! LOL…adorable snap.

Ralphie looks so ferocious in such a small package! Too adorable. Love seeing the photos of everyone’s pups.

Ralphie looks like he’s soft and snuggly, although he’s looking ferocious in this picture!!!!
I so enjoy seeing everyone’s beagles…. Now I know who our DD family are talking about!
I posted last week to Cece that it’s so great that someone else has a beagle and a GS pairing in their family! (well Whisky raised Shotzy before passing on…)

  5. They are both so adorable. I love them. Ralphie loos like he is having fun. Don’t you just love watching them play ?

Great photos, and cool to “meet” other members of the DD family. :->

Love Henry’s coloring, he looks very dashing as a pirate.
Ralphie is a cutie, he’s having a great time!

Love Ralphie’s action shot. The fierce face and flying ear are great!

And I think Henry is the cutest pirate ever. I was going to ask one day if anyone ever dressed up their beagles. Spunky will occasionally put up with a bandana, but anything else is a no go.

    • When we adopted Holly – she came pre-loaded with a couple of tricks. When you are getting a treat out of the tin, she stands up on her hind legs and twirls around and around for it – so I just bought her a little pink ballerina skirt to wear. She kept it on for almost 5 minutes and looked so pretty spinning around for her treats.

Dressing Josie up would be a “no go”. She won’t even wear a harness without having a fit. You could do anything you wanted with Jordan and he thought it was great fun … Philadelphia Flyers hockey jersey, Beaglesaurus Rex sweater that I knitted … They actually both had collars with jingle bells that I’d put on when Christmas company came over, and that would last for about five minutes.

  12. OMG I thought my brother was the only one that observed Talk Like A Pirate Day. And by the way it is the 10th annual International Talk Like A Pirate Day. He sent me a link, below

I tried to talk my friend into getting married on this day so she could have a theme wedding, but my idea was shot down.

Henry is just way ahead of the curve!

Aww… thank you for posting Ralphie. 🙂 And, I missed it. I love seeing him play, as he ages it is not often enough. He and his sister, Roxi (GSD) were playing with Mr. Fox earlier. Now they are both passed out. Ralphie had never growled until we adopted Roxi, and that was during a game of tug of war with her. We jokingly say he is part beagle, part sloth. haha

Henry is adorable in his Pirate hat!!! His ticking is beautiful.
