A quick update

Posted by laurie on October 29, 2012

All is well here, despite incredible winds. The rain hasn’t been particularly strong, but hasn’t stopped, either. We still have power, though I am afraid to say that because it might jinx things. It’s been dark for an hour so it’s hard to see if any damage has been done. Stanley thinks the wind is an intruder, but other than that the boys are doing fine. Hopefully they will go out to pee before bed. Phillip had to usher them out this afternoon. I’ll try for some photos tomorrow. Hang on tight, my fellow East Coasters!

In Arlington VA, just outside DC, the winds are strong with 65 mph gusts, 1.1M homes without power in DC area, heavy rain. Same for next 24 hours. My power on and off. Scout does not like this. When I go to the door to walk him outside, he comes within ten feet, and then hides under a table. Smart boy! I’m afraid NJ is just starting to feel the affects. To all DD fans…Stay dry, stay safe.

Stay safe everyone… The Lash Pack is sending slobbers and positive thoughts to all y’alls!!!

Thanks for the update…..glad to hear you are doing well. It’s even windy here in Michigan, but nothing like what those of you on the east coast are facing. Stay safe!

For those who aren’t on Facebook, Laurie posted 45 minutes ago that they are fine but no Internet …

Thank you! I was wondering….. terrible news coming out of the east. Bless everyone.

Thanks for that Harper. I just read the news (which was terrible!) and came straight here to see how the East Coast and especially NJ beaglers are doing. Hang in there everyone, and stay safe.

I hope all on the east coast are okay, thanks for the Laurie update, Harper! My thoughts & prayers are with all of you, and hopefully power is quickly restored!

Central Massachusetts seems to have fared okay. We never lost power, but plenty of towns around us did. Bode was almost completely oblivious to the storm – only when the rain was at its worst and beating against the bay window in the living room did he finally get up to investigate. We had odd breaks in the wind and rain so he was able to go outside without too much fuss.

Laurie, hope you, Philip and the boys get your power back soon!

We’re okay here in Wilmington, DE although the wind was really scary last night. Amazingly, we only had a one second power outage blip around 8:15pm. We’re surrounded by a ton of big old trees, so I’m amazed we had no issues. Josie had no interest in going out yesterday, so we had to drag her out the back door on a leash, hug close to the house, and then get the heck out of her way when she went barreling back in after relieving herself (Honestly, she almost knocked me over the one time!). But all is well now … phew! Prayers to those who do have damage (and a lot of flooding on the coast, eek!).

  12. Stay safe everyone back east, keep all your four legged babies and humans warm and well. Glad things are okay in the Kramer’s household.

Hope all is well with the Kramer clan.
Here in NE Ohio we had plenty of high winds 50 to 60 mph and rain for 3 days now,but thankfully we did not lose power. I hope I did not jinx myself.

Glad to hear people are pretty okay. We in Rochester, NY have only a few branches down, and zillions of leaves around. But, no damage to speak of, thankfully. I put Gandolf out this morning and he *really* had no desire to as it was raining hard. He stood there for a minute until I said, “Go pee and get a cookie!” That did the trick. If Kramer were still here, he’d never have gone out, and woulda held it for the entire day. I think his bladder was rather large. 🙂

Glad to hear everyone’s ok. First I checked on my family, then the beagle family. Our Vet has friends on the East Coast, and she has decided to donate the proceeds from all nail trimmings to the Red Cross. I’ll be checking the Beags at home to see if they need pedicures! 🙂

I hope everybody remains safe and dry.

So glad to hear all my US friends are safe and well – keeping everything crossed the awful weather departs quickly.

  18. Marty said

Be safe. I guess that is easy to say when you live in Chicago, but the blizzard we had a year and half ago was something else. Keep the guys dry!

  19. Gunner and Bailey's Mom Anne said

Hope you are all ok? no status update today so I guess there is no power? Hang in there.

  20. Sam and Sweetums' Mom said

Glad all is well with most. Even in Indiana we have lots of wind and now it is raining. All those people that raked up those leaves…they are now frustrated and of course, we didn’t do ours so our leaves are now on others’ lawns! Sam and Sweetums don’t mind the rain so much with their trenchcoats on!

  21. Kim with Ferris & Jack said

Glad to hear everyone’s ok for the most part on the East Coast! Hope the power comes back on soon for Laurie…

  22. Ellen said

Everything is ok here in Dover, DE. It’s just been one long rainstorm for the dogs. They go outside to do their business, then come in and want me to dry them off.

  23. Luana, Cody, and Henry said

Here in Wisconsin we had very strong, cold winds today, but nothing else – no rain and, thank goodness, NO SNOW!

  24. Lois said

We’re okay in Silver Spring – lots of rain & wind, but so far our trees are still standing. Sherry doesn’t like to get her feet wet, so will only go out to do her business if Sam makes her take a walk.
