What are you giving your beagles for Christmas?

My beaglemutt is getting a Cozy Cave bed. And squeaky toys to shred. 🙂

Like Maureen implied, every day is pretty much Christmas for Josie at our house, she’s so spoiled! She’ll probably get part of our turkey dinner, that’s all she really cares about!

That’s what I was thinking. Christmas everyday. As it should be 🙂

  2. To answer Joan’s question first, Lily gets a roof over her head for another year :). Actually, she gets a stocking full of toys and those are her toys for the year. Jake gets a basket of raw hides, although I’m not sure he can chew them anymore. They are spoiled throughout the year, so they don’t get many gifts at Christmas.

I have an off topic question…I have been asked to watch an expectant Beagle/Basset rescue dog who would be due while I am watching her. The owner is trying to get back to NY for the holidays and when he rescued this little pup, no one knew she was pregnant. I have never dealt with a dog having puppies and I’m afraid it might be beyond what I am capable of/comfortable with. Has anyone else had a dog give birth and what would I be expected to do before, during and after. I’m in the Dallas area and if I don’t take the Mama, I would at least like to give this guy some sort of recommendation for his rescue.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t have any experience with expectant dogs….my advice would be to talk to your vet/ or the dogs vet. It would be a wonderful thing for you to do, I’ll keep you both in my prayers. Keep us posted.

Laurie, I meant to ask you last week how your sister and family made out with the bad weather in the upper mid west? Hopefully all is OK.

  4. Where do you buy the cozy cave bed? I think someone said you can buy it at bed bath & beyond? There is one here but a pain to get to, especially during the holidays.

Pet Solutions has one, but it’s smaller than the Kramers have.. Go to Also saw it in catalog.

    • They have beds at Bed Bath and Beyond – the are pretty small. They are only $17 with the 20 % off coupon. My two guys sleep in it – but they love the larger one better. The smaller one is only about 25 inches across. I also have beds in every room, but they prefer the cozy cave to sleep in at night and it usually keeps them off the bed for at least part of the night. Buddy sometimes sleeps in it all night. just keep it next to our bed.

Like the others, everyday is Christmas for Gandolf. 🙂 But, he’ll probably get a few squeeker toys, a Greenie or two, and, if he’s good, perhaps he’ll join us at my mom’s new place!

Why not give a nice present to the beagles in SOS Beagle Rescue? Check out the Shopping links page at the SOS site. It won’t cost you a cent, and the sponsoring companies will make a donation to SOS! We include Amazon, and igive has hundreds of participating companies. Check it out here:

    Thank you

Eddy will be getting an “Invincibles” squeaky snake, some elk antlers, a new crate pad. He already has everything! I love to get a cozy cave, he’d love it…but he already has a bed in every room, and he still sleeps on my bed .

I would like to give my dogs a “bully stick” made from Michael Vicks’ “bully stick”.

Yes, Dad spoils Sam and Sweetums with matching toys etc. They both got new coats to celebrate our football team. In their stockings will be homemade small dog biscuits and some toys!!
