Good morning, everyone. It’s a frosty morning here in CT, and I’m hoping the dogs will take extra-long naps.

A frosty morning in Delaware as well, but no such luck with Josie sleeping in … the breakfast pestering started at 4am today … ugh.

It’s rainy with flood warnings here in Houston. Jodi woke me up at 2 AM ish to go outside this morning. Breakfast was served at 5 😦 I couldn’t put them off any longer.

After the Great Breakfast Excitement, the dogs are usually good for a nap of several hours.

Yeah, lucky hounds napping after breakfast, while us human slaves go off to work to earn money to buy more dog food!

We had Extra Excitement this morning, featuring a Special Guest — the furnace repairman. The automatic humidifier was not automatically drawing water. The conversation began with “solenoid valve” and ended with “$379.” But he’s a nice young man and we’re starting to think of him as family. I did tell him I hope not to see his face again until air conditioner inspection time.

Oh jeez. We had that same type of Extra Excitement the week before New Years. Unfortunately our conversation ended with an amount considerably higher than yours – yikes. We ended up having no heat for 5 days which happened to coincide with a cold snap here in California. It gets down to freezing about once a year and sure enough, it did it the week we were unheated. I just had to laugh at that!

Ouch! I have a service contract that pays for everything, but that is very expensive also. You can’t win.

Years ago, we had ‘extra excitement’ with my Mom’s visiting nurse, and a local nursing magazine. He wanted to do an article on IV infusion at home, and when the photographers came, they decided a shot of the patient, and her Beagle would be nice. Since our Beagle, Lady, was hiding under the dining room table and aroooooing at the top of her big Beagle lungs, the photo shoot took place without her.

After a few dry days here in the UK, it’s raining again!!! They do say that from tomorrow onwards, for a few more days, it’s going to be much colder but dry, so hopefully this is just a normal spell of winter rain, not the weeks on end of rain we had at the end of 2012. Our little island will float away if we get another wet year!!

Beautiful day in the St. Louis area. But Eddy didn’t care about the sunshine, the teenager next door thought it was a good idea to throw his leftover potato chips outside for the birds and racoons! Guess whose superdoopersniffer found them before any other critter? Yep, we got lots of exercises playing “keep away” in their yard. I also know Eddy will be checking that same spot for weeks, just in case he missed a crumb.

It is cold as in 35 in Indiana and will be 60 by Sat!! Our excitement is that the snow and ice are falling off the roof esp at night so there is a lot of barking and making sure our house is secure!!

We have a bit of global warming in Brooklyn, NY–49 degrees. Penny is getting so used to my latest round of doctor visits that she runs upstairs to Ginny whenever I put on my hat and coat.
