Meet Harley

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine inviting a pit bull onto my lap. But 11 month old Harley is as sweet as he looks. Aunt Nancy brought him over on Saturday and Sunday to socialize with the boys. Aren’t his ears cute? They’ll stay uncropped. As Nancy said, “If anyone in the family gets cosmetic surgery, it will be me.”

This is how Sherman socializes. He is happy to meet any dog, but prefers his rest and tummy rubs. He didn’t mind sharing the couch with Harley. Stanley, on the other hand was his usual “I’ll growl and bark at him, show him I’m the boss even though I’m really, really, really scared.” Harley so wanted to play with Stan but it didn’t happen. We’ll try again next weekend.

P.S. Harley says, “Happy Birthday, Evan!!”

I LOVE these pictures! Harley looks so happy with his new life!

I’m sure that, over time, Stan and Shermie and Harley will all get along – maybe become really good buddies. Blessings and best of luck to all of you!

Harley is very handsome – such a sweet looking boy!
I am sure, with time, that Stanley will warm up to him and Sherman will continue to share his couch!

The shot of Harley on your lap should be made into a poster for national distribution.
This is how they truly are, how they should be, and how they can be in the proper home. Very handsome young man.

Agreed. Pibbles really are the sweetest dogs! Like they say, a golden retriever can be vicious if you train it to be. Harley looks as sweet as can be, and like he’s loving his new life. Love his beautiful brindle coat!

  6. Harley is so handsome. I love hs coloring. Glad that the ears are not going to be cropped. He is so cute just the way he is.

He is really cute! I am sure the years to come we will see him with his perfect ears and pretty coat having a beagle good time for sure!

Harley is a real sweetheart. I’ve met several pit bulls over the years when we went visiting shelters looking for another beagle. Most of them have been just like Harley. Once I met a pit bull puppy, and he was just adorable! (But then, most puppies are.)

How lovely to see a pitbull that’s happy, rather than covered in scars after being used for fighting . He’s so cute! JB is like Stan with boy dogs – all barky and macho. However show him a girly and he goes all perky and silly (just like human men!!). Cassie just loves everyone and always goes up for a sniff, a tail wag and a play if the other dog is wiling.

Harley looks like a sweetheart! He is a lucky boy to have found such a loving home.

  12. Harley is great. He’s a Lucky Dog!

Couldn’t find my picture of Mocha the Pit Beagle. She doesn’t come to the park anymore. I guess it was on my phone and never made it to my computer. I’ll keep an eye out for her just in case she shows up.

Sign us up for the Harley fan club. He’s a cutie. Love the pictures. In the second one it looks like Harley is wondering why Sherman is getting the belly rub.
Make sure Harley knows that he in now an honorary beagle!

What a cutie! I’m so glad he has a loving home where doggie cosmetic surgery is eschewed.

So glad I got a chance to use “eschewed” in a sentence about dogs. So early, too.

Harley couldn’t stop jumping into Aunt Laurie’s lap. He even had the nerve to do it when Stanley was on the couch next to Laurie. Sherman has the other couch, Stanley has the moo cow and Harley has Aunt Laurie’s lap. He did jump off a couple of times to bark “Please play with me Stanely!” but Stanley just looked at him and said “Bring me your cool toys and snacks and I’ll think about it.”. Sherman looked at Harley and in no uncertain terms said “I’ll be your friend if you don’t wake me up and rub my belly!!!”
