This is Roz Sherman, I believe you’ve met her before, she’s on the Township Council with Phillip and is always a big hit with the boys. I had two guests yesterday who were less than enthusiastic, so I sat on the little couch holding both of them.

I went to the wound care center yesterday and came home without my vacu-drain! Just a regular bandage now, and I’ll be able to take a shower (and remove the bandage) just before the visiting nurse comes every other day to put on a new one. The same nurse as before so the boys will have to go into the bedroom, but changing it will take much less time than the other.

Hooray no vacudrain! Big step in recovery. Love the pictures, and those flowers in back are simply gorgeous!!

  2. I always have a hard time with people who seem less than enthusiastic around dogs. I know it’s not very gracious, but I avoid inviting them over to my house. It’s like I told former beau: love me, love my dogs. He didn’t last very long.

This is off-topic, but SOS Beagles is trying to raise funds for Lark, a little stray female beagle crippled since birth with painfully defective knees. Lark is in rescue now in Tennessee, and has had several successful operations so far. If you’d like to help or want to know more, please visit http://www.sosbeagles.org. You’ll see the link on the right. Thank you very much!

Glad to hear that the vacudrain is gone. I made a donation to SOSBeagles for Lark. What a little sweetheart. I like their site’s suggestion for getting your daily beagle fix by following the DD for the adventures of the Kramer beagles.

There is another site which may be of interest, http://www.beaglefreedomproject.org. They LEGALLY rescue beagles from research laboratories that may otherwise destroy them or sell them to another lab. Most often, the beagles have never been outside of their lab crates except to be experimented on. Videos show them hesitating to leave the crates that were used to rescue them.

I hope everyone had a good Valentine’s Day.

Yay for no WoundVac! Glad to hear you’re progressing so well Laurie.

  7. Sort of like ” Where’s Waldo” – but instead we can play “Where’s Roz” ? You can tell that they boys really like her.

So please to hear of your continued recovery Laurie! Love the signs you guys have up – quite right, if you don’t like dogs stay away from Beagle residences!!! I don’t like children but I don’t complain about them, I just stay away from them! Can’t stop thinking about poor Lark – I’ll visit the website.

Thanks to all who have donated money for Lark so far! Just to clarify, when you click the Paypal button, it will say that you are donating to the Dorothy Schuda Fund. That is correct–the Dorothy Schuda Fund is part of SOS Beagles, and is the source of funds for special needs beagles.

Great news – SOS Beagles e-mailed to say that Lark has an adopter waiting, pending her medical clearance! Here’s hoping she has a lovely new home waiting and all the medical attention she needs.

When my mom had her knee replaced, the nurse recommended Glad Press n Seal to cover her incision in the shower. Worked like a charm. Glad to hear your wound vac is gone.
