I’ve been admiring the sharpness of the photos with Clayton, Spenser and Scooter. Many were taken with my (old) Nikon 900, which is my favorite camera of all that I’ve owned. It only has 3.4 megapixels and requires 4 AA batteries, but it has an ingenious swivel mechanism which allows me to shoot up at the beagles instead of down. It makes a big differencer. I still use the Canon DSLR that I bought in 2005. DSLRs do not have any shutter lag and I forgot all about that until I tried to take some pictures with the Nikon. Oops.

I could use some snow right about now. (Clayton on the left.)

Scooter didn’t really NEED the sweater, it just looked so darn funny on him! (Spenser up on high.)

My sister is going to love this one

Meet Archie. Not ours! He was visiting our neighbors down the street. He is a 14 week old basset hound and just about the cutest puppy I have ever seen. Unfortunately the impromptu photo shoot was not very successful and this is the best shot we got. I was not pleased with my appearance, hence the blur. In New Jersey, we call that artistic license.

Just like the inside, the outside of our house was a hideous brown when we moved in. Having your house sided is an expensive proposition, so Phillip decided to do it himself. When not at the hospital during the summer of 2000, Captain Siding was hard at work. These are his assistants, who negotiated a very generous union contract which allowed for several hours of napping each day.

In Europe they eat salad last

I remember when I was little my mother would say “What am I going to make tomorrow?” as soon as the dishes were done. She didn’t like to cook, and it showed.

How many dinners do you serve at least once a week?

I’m pretty sure this is the only tinsel I’ve ever owned. I might still own it!

Mr. Man wasn’t always such a good sport with props, but he sure was here.

Doesn’t Sherman look sharp in that scarf? It’s part of Phillip’s Air Force uniform, which he last wore in the Memorial Day Parade on May 27. That was — hmmmm, let’s see — 42 days ago and it’s still moving about the kitchen. They were right about marriage and trade-offs. You win some, you lose some Air Force scarves.

Aunt Rita

Posted by laurie on July 5, 2013

This is, of course, Aunt Rita with two of her very favorite nephews (and her pink iPad). Does everyone have an iPad except me? Phillip has two iPads! One belongs to the Township and the other to him. I used the latter occasionally while I was couch-bound in February, mainly to reserve movies that I never watched. Rita watches whole movies on her iPad! But I do have an iPhone and an iPod and a Power Mac, so I’m not a complete Apple Luddite.

All is good

Certain people worry if I don’t have the DD up by 8:30, so to those I say, “Don’t worry!” I woke up this morning with an upset stomach so I went back to bed and woke up all better.

Happy Fourth of July to my U.S. friends! I’ll be back on Friday. Tonight and tomorrow I have to study for my annual Bill of Rights quiz.
