The Boo

The cool-a-roo is very popular with the campers this summer.

Uncle Bob and Aunt Nancy came over to visit the Boo. He was a little nervous and ran up the stairs.

But before you knew it, Aunt Nancy had found Boo’s sweet spot and was scritch-scratching away.

Yesterday we took all three for a walk on the canal. They were exceptionally well-behaved and received many compliments. “Are they related?” They always ask that!

A perfect Monday morning DD. Boo is definitely (sorry Susan) Adorabeagle!

That’s okay, Harper … you can use the term as long as it’s properly used and credit is given, so you’ve correctly complied with all legal requirements to use the “adorabeagle” term. :-> And it certainly applies to Boo!

In our house, when you find the sweet spot and the hind leg starts going, we always say the dogs are “riding the bicycle”.

Back onto Friday’s topic of whisker trimming, they do that for show horses as well. As mentioned, they’re just trimmed and they do grow back, but I don’t like the idea of it myself. It’s interesting to note the different perspectives on this … there are still dogs that have ears and tails cropped in the US, but I know it’s illegal in the UK. But did you know that it’s illegal to neuter dogs in Norway? (Not sure if that goes for spaying as well). They don’t have an overpopulation problem, and with good management practices, it can be fine. I guess there are positive health reasons to leave them alone, and they feel it’s “cruel” and just done for the owners convenience. I might not have everything straight on this, I’m just recalling an article I recently read in The Whole Dog Journal and there is some info on the internet about it.

They’re all related. Little gentle spirits, all alike. 🙂

“Gentle spirits, all alike”, I like that! I used to get tired of being asked if they are all sisters, Of course they are related, they are my daughters 🙂

I got mine a cool-a-roo, and ended up sending it back. No one appreciated it.

Love Mr. Boo, he is adorabeagle indeed. (hehe Tks Susan)

He has the cleanest little beagle socks I’ve ever seen – no freckles!

  5. They always ask if they are related. Or if they are puppies, even when they have white faces.

      Yes, people do….

Yes, I’ve gotten both those comments many times. However, once someone asked me if Josie and Jordan were Dobermans …. that was kind of shocking. Most non-dog people know the difference between most of the “common” dog breeds. I could see confusing a fox hound with a Treeing Walker Coonhound, and I know sometimes people get the basset and beagle names mixed up, but Doberman isn’t even close!

Funny, no one ever asks if mine are related… (black lab, German Shepard, Basset, and border collie) 🙂
And yet they are related… “…by mailbox”… A quote from one of my FAVE comic strips… Get Fuzzy

Cobalt is a blue beagle (so he’s taupe colored) and Onyx is a traditional tri-color. Yet people still ask if they are related. Yes, yes they are. They are siblings. 😉 In our lives, they are siblings, so that is all that matters.

Susan- I really cracked up thinking about someone mixing up a Doberman with a beagle…

I bought a coolaroo because it seemed so well loved here on the DD. Beags weren’t impressed. However, we did buy some new throw pillows for the couches recently, and the beags have claimed them as their own!

  8. We have a coolaroo in the living room as it matches the green leather couches. Oscar sometimes lays on it to look out the sliding glass window but both boys prefer the leather couches, of course
