Hold on!

Posted by laurie on September 4, 2013

It seems inevitable that one of the boys weasels his way onto a lap during a dinner party. This time it was Judy’s lap. She is holding onto Stanley quite tightly because of that (delicious!) Zucchini Chocolate Orange Cake on the table.

He is quite the social butterfly 🙂 Ok the cake might have had something to do with it. Sounds great!

Stan’s head is just about to swivel around to that cake and, if he’s like my crew, the wine as well. Once he locks on, it’s all over but the rooooing!

Yup, that’s how they roll! Josie is a tea totaler, but Lady is all over any unattended alcoholic beverages. And that cake looks awesome, thanks for posting the link to the recipe, Laurie!

Speaking of beagles getting food off of tables, this is a fabulous series from the “Four Legged Pal” archives (This is the Scottish Beagle site that Julie (JB & Cassie’s mum) told us about):

I have been following this since Julie told us about it. Love it.

      • How did I miss this!!! I bookmarked it and will have to check it out in more detail later!

That was so classic…..My Oscar doesn’t have to jump…he has long legs and can reach fine, thank you. —he takes after my side of the family.

Hi Julie, definitely the photos of Biggles with his birthday present were adorable. They’re typical beagles, but Paul tells a great story (and takes fabulous photos, like Laurie does!).

In Brooklyn, my Sister, Ginny and I call it ‘levitating’. Penny would bring either Gold or Silver to the USA. As a matter of fact, when she was in Puppy Kindergarten, her trainer said ” I’ve never seen a Beagle jump so high to get attention’.

Bartles will slurp any unattended beverage… And he has a sneak jump into your lap move… But at 58 pounds, not as sweet as Stanley!!!!

Eddy would be all over that can of whipped cream. He loves, loves, loves that stuff.
