The salad course

Buddy is a finicky eater when it comes to treats. He’ll carefully sniff what you offer and sometimes take it, sometimes not. I think this has something to do with the fact that he is part dachshund. Surprisingly, he doesn’t like carrots, nor does his sister Holly who seems to like just about everything else. Both love sugar snap peas. Go figure.

try a bit of ranch dressing on them. our guys enjoy almost all veggies with ‘condiments’ added. Bailey wouldn’t eat french fries without ketchup…

So funny…. The only thing I ever found that a beagle will not eat is a pickle -> and they even would eat that if they feared someone else might get one and they wouldn’t.

My dogs like all treats and will take off my fingers as a side dish if I let them. But only Timmy likes watermelon.

Ours will eat lettuce IF it has touched dressing. 🙂

In the ‘eat all things’ category… I made sugar cookies over the weekend and in the process dumped the bag of flour on the floor. Onyx came in and happily started lapping up the flour. I was trying to get it up with a wet paper towel, and found myself racing her tongue!

  5. Buddy also likes tio take and hide or bury snacks also. And yes he is a very picky snacker and eater. Watch so that Miss Piggy/ Holly does not steal his share. Vacation is going great. Thank you for all of your great pictures of our kids. We miss them so much !

Olives are the only thing that Bode will not eat (the same was true for my dad’s cocker spaniel – she would growl at them as she tried to get them down!).

Josie is a bit finicky. We haven’t found anything Lady won’t eat …. carrots, lettuce, apples, bananas, foam ear plugs, empty Diet Coke cans … More like owning a goat than a beagle, sometimes.

I always say they’re half goat and half bear. They’ll eat anything, and they REALLY want to eat anything. It’s like camping in bear country – you have to hang your food.

JD Lab and Bartles the Basset will eat pretty much any treat any time. Shotzy Girl my German Shepard can be finicky… Except when she was a puppy, then she was like a goat too…electrical wiring, tin cans, balls, oak logs from the wood pile, drywall on the wall, and of course recently pooped out a whole squeaker… Not sure how long that was in her system….

What a cute little pack of hounds! Mine will eat anything. In my home office I have a small collection of stuff: an upholstery staple, a googly eye from some unknown stuffed animal, an AA battery (!), a wood screw and a couple of other miscellaneous objects. These are all things I took out of Lily’s mouth *in the office*. Who knows where she got them, but she showed up in the office with them and I fished them out of the beagle and put them in an old coffee mug. I could probably have a similar collection in each room of the house.

So yeah, Lily definitely eats carrots.
