It was close to 70 yesterday, warmer outside than in.
I’m taking a DD vacation from Christmas through New Year’s. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my wonderful readers!

We’re not going anywhere for Christmas and that’s fine by me. I start vacation this afternoon and don’t go back to work until January 2. One of the benefits of working at a university is the generous vacation allotment (4+ weeks). I’m going to attempt, with Phillip’s help, to declutter the house. I say that every year, however, so we’ll see how it goes.

Phillip is picking up the calendars today from Ron. I have the envelopes labeled and need to get stamps. I’ll mail them Friday and/or Saturday. If you’re planning on giving one as a Christmas present, let me know and I’ll be sure to send it out first.

It’s hard to see but Stanley has his mouth clamped onto the bed.
The calendars are back from the printer. Ron and I both apologize for the delay. I’ll get them in the mail as soon as possible.

Scooter was very agile in the snow, running and jumping like a deer. Clayton, not so much. But those ears! They make up for everything.

We got a few inches of snow on Saturday followed by freezing rain at night. The ice crusted onto the snow and Stanley kept getting his feet stuck.
I threw treats out the door to get these pictures and one went under the Cool-a-roo. Phillip is taking this week and next week off and putting away the patio furniture is on his to-do list. Well, at least in my mind it is.

Stanley was enjoying a sweet potato jerky strip and I took the opportunity to take some funny face photos. Why are his paws blurred? Because his nails are embarrassingly long and one way or another will be trimmed this weekend. I hope this post doesn’t make its way onto one of those lists of Photoshop exposés.

This is an unusual picture because Spenser never paid any attention to Matisse, barely acknowledged him. As you can see, he was too busy perfecting the art of looking bored.

Sometimes it takes us a while to get things done. Notice the paint cans on the far right. The painting was completed a couple of weeks ago but neither of us has bothered to put the remaining paint in the crawlspace (like half a basement). That thing next to the paint is half of the “fire escape” shelf that I ordered from Uncommongoods.com. Phillip hung part of it before we noticed that it wasn’t level. He used a level, but the thing itself is not level. So eventually we’ll get around to fixing it and putting that up, probably just above where it’s now sitting in place of the picture. I’m still actively in love with the new paint colors.
