Little girls love the Sherm

Posted by laurie on December 4, 2013

Sherman is so good with little kids. This is Chayla, one of the 1-1/2 year old twins. She has a piece of venison jerky in her hand, and look how politely he’s sitting there.

Here she is again with her brother, Chasen, showing Sherm the orange scarf. He spent a lot of time on this kitchen rug and we eventually figured out why – there’s a hot air vent just underneath the cabinet.

(the twins are cute too πŸ™‚ )

  2. Big girls love Sherman too ! I adore him. I can’t believe how nice he is just sitting there looking at the venison jerky. My two would have devouered it by now.- Such a good Sherman.

How cute! Yes, he’s being very polite, but he’s staring. That’s what Cody would do.

Actually, Cody would move right in there and take the jerky from her little hand, whether she liked it or not!

Awww…I love it. In the second picture, it looks like Sherman’s about to lay on his side. Such a sweet, gentle boy. πŸ™‚

That was the “If I stare at it long enough they will give it to me.” stare if I ever saw one!

Shern is sure staring intently and what a good boy! My Marley would have snatched it from her fingers, leaving Chayla crying. He does it with my grandaughters all the time!

He is such a gentle soul. Chyla might not have fingers left at my house. My hounds are so unruly, but I love them anyway.
Sherman is so much smarter than the average bear πŸ™‚

You know, my reaction was the same as Sue’s – my hounds generally snatch first and ask permission later (just ask our friend Larry who lost a chicken wing he was holding just a little too close to the ground). But one of our Thanksgiving guests was 6-year old Jason, who brought a tube of treats for the dogs. Completely unexpectedly he doled them out carefully, one by one, and Lily Loaf of Bread was actually patient and polite, taking the treats from his little hands so softly. I was amazed and proud of both boy and dog!

The two boy beagles were far too spooked to hang out downstairs so they missed out on the treat parade, but they made up for it during the kitchen cleanup activities where some white meat somehow fell or was pushed to the floor.

Who wouldn’t love the Sherm!!! Laurie, I thought yesterday’s photos of Spenser were some of the best you’ve posted – he was such a handsome fellow!

I love Shermie! His gentle, loving attitude is so much like Henry’s.
