I have to make a barking video. Stanley starts and Sherman chimes in. I don’t know if it’s because Sherman is deaf, but his bark is more of a squawk. Bark bark bark squawk squawk…

Clayton didn’t just walk, he trundled. And when he ran his long ears nearly lifted him off the ground.

It’s really a toss-up between Scooter and Sherman when it comes to personal space, or the lack thereof.

Believe it or not, a whole lot of snow melted this weekend.
We took the boys for a walk in the park yesterday. It was sunny and close to 60. It was like walking in the city, everyone was there. Whenever a strange dog approached (we must have met at least 20 dogs) Phillip would kneel down and hold Stanley, reassuring him that the dog was not going to eat him whole. Then he’d get a treat. It worked pretty well and Stan only barked/lunged at a couple of dogs, including a pit bull who stuck his face in Stan’s, and a sharpei/golden retriever puppy who was just too darn cute.

We’ve been giving the boys a Dentabone after we eat dinner. It takes longer for them to chew it than a biscuit-type treat. This means that I often finish loading the dishwasher before Stanley is done eating. For the last two days he has taken his treat (in his mouth) to the dishwasher and (briefly) tried to multi-task. The dishwasher consistently loses. Poor Stan, no prewashing for you.

Spenser was such a lap dog. A 42-pound lap dog.
Speaking of winter, Phillip informs me that our average snowfall is 25″ (63.5 cm), and this year we’ve already collected 58″ (147.3 cm). Yesterday my sister texted me a photo of her Oregon daffodils. Is that sisterly love? I don’t think so! I replied with a photo of a huge snow pile in my parking lot at work.

I’m very happy with the fire escape shelf. I only recommend it if you are very handy. It took Captain Siding about a half hour to hang it. The two plants on it are the only two plants I own because I (unintentionally) kill any plant that I acquire. I’ve been watering these for several weeks now and am amazed at their longevity.

Stanley was unceremoniously kicked off the bed last night due to growling. He hates being moved while he’s sleeping and puts on quite a ferocious show. Meanwhile, Sherman went outside in the very early morning to howl. We had dinner with our neighbors last night and they claimed that they “no longer hear the barking.” Oh yeah, right.
