A cold day in Ontario, Canada. So Minnie made her own cozy cave bed.

This is our beautiful young friend Scout II – she loves summer but probably won’t go fishing again (that is a fish hook!)

    What a cute snuggley Minnie!
And oh my gosh! A fishhook!?
Poor Scout II! But looks like the little cutie is fine!

What sweeties! And poor Scout II … I should know better by now, but I continue to be shocked and stunned at the trouble beagles can get themselves into.

Minnie is one smart cookie, and Scout is adorabeagle! I love beagles with the full, square snout.

Trouble = Beagles, at least when they are younger.
My Barney had to go to the Vet for observation the other day. While I was showering he broke into our pantry and made off with a bag of food. Thankfully it was less than 1/2 full. He ended up getting very ill. OK so much for the young theory. He is 12ish….:)

My Lily investigated a bee or wasp way too closely one day, and got a ridiculously swollen snooter for her trouble. Heck, she probably just ate the stupid thing and it stung her on the way in. By the time I got home from work the swelling had reduced somewhat and it was just funny. But my husband was home at the time and it really gave him a scare at first. Beagles = trouble for sure!

When we were on holiday last year, JB got stung by a wasp on his furry plums! We were walking alongside a river when he started to panic and look round at his bottom and when I investigated there was a wasp settled on his plums, stinging him. I pulled it off but it must have been so painful. We had some anti histamine tablets in the car and we gave him one almost straight away and after about half an hour he calmed down. There was probably one wasp in that area that afternoon but our beag had to find it and get himself stung!!!

Our Whisky Girl beagle managed to get a bee up her nose (this was 2 months after we rescued her) and 2 days before vacation… She had an extreme allergic reaction — we didn’t know why at the time not having seen the bee… We took her to the emergency vet (it was after regular hours of course) and thank goodness the vet was AWESOME!!! She actually saw the stinger in her nostril and removed it…. I thought she had been poisoned… From then on we keep benydril in the house just in case πŸ™‚

Darling Minnie certainly has the right idea, keeping warm in her nice chair.

Scout with the fish hook – typical beagle! I’m glad he wasn’t permanently hurt by it.
