I see green grass peeking through! Are the boys scratching and shaking off winter?

Catching up..been a hectic 2 weeks. Started with Trent throwing a chain of cluster seizures…he spent 3 days 2 nights at Northstar under the supervision of his neurologist Dr Logan. At the same time, Gypsy had surgery to remove a fatty tumor from her posterior…(butt)…Shes fine now but the thought and process of a 16yo beagle having surgery stressed us to our limits..
Trent is now on a combo of meds and SEEMS to be stable. We are starting to cut the dose of Keppra now since that drug didn’t work and is VERY expensive. Also the side effects of all three meds is catching up with the little guy. Hes restless, drinks/pees a lot, and loses rear leg coordination…so the quicker we can get and keep him seizure free and lighten his drug load, the better off we’ll all be…as long as he can stay seizure free (wish/hope/pray) At least we now have valium injectable in case he goes off course to bring him right back down.
He is now classified as ‘difficult’ to treat (Seinfeld reference) as he does not respond to meds like most dogs..and metabolizes some very quickly..Lucky for him his vets love him as much as we do…

Prayers and puppy kisses for Trent from the Lash Pack.
I know how stressful it is when our pups/cats/etc. are sick.
So glad that Gypsy is fine now!

Gypsy and Trent are BOTH very lucky to have such a caring home, since vet bills can run very high!

Praying the combo of drugs helps little Trent. Hugs from Cody and Henry!

It is actually snowing here for the first day of spring, adding to what we still have. I’m so jealous!
