When we first got Clayton I didn’t want him to sleep on the bed. Then, well, I didn’t want him to touch the sheets. Make that no going under the covers. I was hopeless, but fortunately learned quickly.

As we all know – rules were made to be broken!! Unless you’re a beagle of course, as no rules exist…

same rule applies in our bed..the beagles have their own blanket. Gypsy chooses to sleep on top of it. Trent keeps moving under and over. Bailey was the only one to ever break the rule. He used to love to burrow under all the blankets to get to the cool sheets…

I started out last night with Bartles Basset snuggled up to my side and woke up with Wookey Shepard snuggled there…
Fortunately none of ours like to burrow in the covers…they all remain on the top of the comforter

  4. Both of mine love to burrow. Buddy’s favorate place to settle in is behind my knees, as I lay on my side. Hi head is behind my knees, he pushes his back up next to my thighes and ….well… we end up sleeping cheek to cheek so to speak. 😉
Holly is just all over the place. She starts out under the covers, then when she gets too hot, comes and lays on top, then finally goes in to her own bed which is next to ours.

My Marley burrows underneath the covers to start out – then when he gets hot it’s back on top – gets cold – back underneath and so on. Makes for a good night’s sleep! And as we all know, the head of the house is the one with the tail!

Jodi is the only burrower, she has her own blanket that she sleeps under/over 1/2 and 1/2. If SHE wants to, she will sleep between my pillow and the headboard. LOL

Thanks Laurie for posting pics of the “Original 3” from time to time…

Josie wants nothing to do with the people bed. Lady (and Jordan before her) occasionally goes under the covers, but usually prefers to pin you down under the blankets.

Speaking of dog beds, this might even be more fun than the Cozy Cave (be sure to watch the video of the different ways it can be configured!). This was featured in the April issue of The Whole Dog Journal as one of their “Gear of the Year” selections:
