Just look at that Taj Ma Patio. I’ve found that spraying vinegar on a hot and sunny day is an effective and non-toxic way of getting rid of the weeds. And if you add a little oil you can have a salad.

Perfect for dogs who eat grass just like a cow!

  2. White vinegar is a miracle cleaner. Coffee makers, stainless steel, shower heads, put it in a miracle grow sprayer and spray the yard to get rid of urine smells (our yard is small) we even use it to flush the boat motor instead of the expensive Salt Away. And only $3.99 for a huge bottle at Costco. It did strip the glossy finish off the shower tiles though. Oh well. Now I know it works on weeds too. And non toxic to pets.

Also we have poured just table salt into the cracks and sprinkle with water for great results too!

When Spunky was a pup she liked to dig, so as soon as she’d make a hole I’d fill it with vinegar. She hated the smell, and her digging habit ended pretty quickly.

I’m going to try that. We need to find something to stop the Huggster from digging. Guess we will spray the whole yard. But do you think that will kill the grass (not that there is much left) ? LOL

A cup of white vinegar in the wash with your vinyl shower curtain and a few towels helps get the grime and water stains off the shower curtain, too. (I have a small bathroom, so I have a relatively clear [but textured] shower curtain that looks terrible with the hard water spots that build up). We’ll have to give a try on the urine on the back patio, I’m not too keen on using bleach where all of us walk around. That’s where the hot tub is, so when the smell around it gets bad, it’s not relaxing to be there. But hey, I’ll take pee on the patio over pee in the house … XOXO Love you, Josie girl! :->

This is me exactly. We have a small yard with a lot of paving that gets direct sun, and hot beagle pee is not pleasant. But outside beagle pee is WAY better than inside beagle pee!

  6. It’s a Hints from Heloise column. I agree with Donna that vinegar is a miracle cleaner. We have very hard water in Arizona.

I use vinegar to soak shower heads and water nozzles. Along with baking soda, vinegar is great for cleaning the garbage disposal. I clean our bird bath with coarse salt, baking soda and vinegar. It’s great for cleaning hummingbird feeders too. I add vinegar to the softener cup on our front-loading washer to soften clothes. And now I’ll kill weeds with vinegar.

  7. I forgot about cleaning the washer and dishwasher. It’s amazing how dirty they can get even if you are using soap and hot water. Put vinegar in small dishes on the top rack of the dishwasher and run a cycle. Then wipe down.
