John writes:

I was on the deck photographing a dive regulator for a forum and noticed he was really checking it out so I took a picture. I was impressed by his concentration.

Beasley is doing very well and starts obedience school next week. He is so inquisitive as you can see from the picture. He’s always ready to help!

Bailey and Trent

I don’t know about you, but I am a complete sucker for beagle freckles. This is Ron’s Trent with his big brother Bailey. If you’ll remember, Trent got his name because Ron found him in Trenton, NJ.

Harper sent me this the day before all hell broke loose, so I’m just getting to it now. Bartles loves his booties!

Rusty

Kim writes:

Rusty Bob Jackson crossed Rainbow Bridge on February 2, 2013 – where he was joyfully met by his brother, Ian Hunter Jackson who preceded him passing in 2004. Rusty lived a charmed life having been found by his father Roy Jackson 13 or so years ago while Rusty was dodging cars on a busy lunch hour in front of HEB. His new daddy snatched him up and carried him to the car where his new mommy, Kim Jackson waited anxiously. After eating a couch, recliner and various other household items over the next few months, Rusty settled in with the grace ad good cheer that only a beagle can impart to those around him. His favorite pasttime was of course eating. Rusty never passed on a bowl of anyone’s food from the Vet’s cat bowl to the bowls of his siblings. He enjoyed napping on the back of sofas and squishy chairs as well as a favorite sunny spot where he dreamed of chasing rabbits and squirrels.

Rusty’s talents included a chocolate eyed stare that was irresistible, unconditional love to his family, and a heart so big that nobody could resist his charm. He is missed by his family and will always be in our hearts. Well done Rusty. Good job boy.

John and Patti write:

Beasley is growing like a weed and the lights are on and someone is home! Of course, most of his budding intellect is devoted to figuring out how to get into trouble.

Willow

Jan writes:

This is Willow, who’s 2.5 or thereabouts, and an SOS alumna. We adopted her in June, six months after losing Brownie, who’d been with us 10 years and was nearly 13. Willow is sharp as a tack and silly as all beagles. In the second photo, she’s enjoying the snuggle ball bed I made for her for Christmas. She actually gave me a kiss on the nose after I put her in it the first time!

Festive Jack

Deanna writes:

I just wanted to share a picture of our 7-month old beagle, Jack, posing with my daughter, Julie, in his Christmas sweater. He actually runs over and wants us to put it on him whenever we pull it out, he must know how dashing he looks in it! He was such a good boy during Christmas dinner, he actually fell asleep on his mat beside the table while we ate (our last beagle was not so well behaved!). He got his own special dinner after we were done eating for being such a good boy!

Festive beagles!

spunky

Bonnie writes:
I tried for a festive action shot, but this is the best I got. Spunky loves opening presents – more than what’s inside – and when hers are all opened, she helps us by shredding wrapping paper all over the floor. When I saw her sitting there with a piece of paper stuck to her lip, I had to try to capture it. It’s kind of amazing that we can have the gifts under the tree for days and she doesn’t really bother them – except the ones for her. How she knows, I have no idea, but she always does. Come time for opening the gifts, however, and she’s like a little kid – gets so excited she just wriggles.

Luana writes:

Here are some Christmas Day pix of my precious boys. I love the one of Henry (wearing the Christmas collar)and his Uncle Dennis (sort of like your Uncle Bob!). Uncle Dennis managed to hold Cody still long enough for me to get a picture of the two of them wearing their Santa hats.

Sara and Chris write:

I’ve attached a photo of my two girls, Ruby on the left, and Shay on the right. The little dog in the middle is Matilda, a friend’s rat terrier who is staying with us for a week, and although little is taking ownership of all the stuffed toys Santa Paws brought. This pose required a large number of treats!

lucyTrooper

Margie writes:

Came home after leaving Lucy and Trooper in the house for about two hours and the rascal had eaten all the goodies. This is what I sent to Lucy’s pet sitter and mail lady (who stops every day to give our beagles treats). Saint Trooper – who would have jumped up if he could have.

bailey

Anne writes:

Bailey is quite the ‘bird’ expert! She cooks a mean turkey.

sophiePolly

Kate sent this great photo of her late and great Sophie and Polly, from a Christmas years ago.

bj

“Giulirai” writes:

We used the pic for our Xmas Card. It is staged anyway. BJ does not even get close to the Xmas tree anymore. It does not smell like food. LOL The inside of the card says:
“Dear Santa, I have ben really, really good this year. I just thought I saw a squirrel in the tree … honestly!”

bartles

Harper writes:

Here’s Bartles…
He wiggled and snuggled his way up to my belly one night as we were settling down to sleep (I was actually reading) and I managed to get this picture… I could’ve propped my Nook up on his head to read better J

This is the view I get in the morning when Barts is digging me out of the covers… I figured the red comforter gives it a festive Christmas look 🙂

Jacqui writes:

Nathaniel (top) looks similar to Max in the Grinch…poor guy! I think I got the best of his dignity in this one…. And Phoebe just loves working it in her Santa sweater.

wally

Jessica writes:

Here is a picture of my beagle Wally in his Santa outfit. He’s not normally a fan of wearing clothes, but he put up with me for a few seconds so I could get this shot. Wally loves baby carrots, so he was rewarded with a snack for being a good boy and posing for the camera.

This was taken a few days ago [early December, actually], right after our 2 year adoption anniversary (he turned 5 years old this summer). Wally is a big lover and requires lots of snuggles everyday. He’s a clown and definitely brings a lot of love and laughs to our family.

John and Patti write:

We brought Beasley home Sunday. He is so much fun and my is he busy. We had forgotten the lack of sleep, the constant vigilance, beagle proofing the house. It’s like having a toddler in the house. But we know it is worth it!

Beasley

John and Patti write:

We had a beagle for 12 years who we lost to cancer a couple of years ago. We decided it was time for another beagle. Beasley was born October 16th and we bring him home next week, and I’m sure things will be chaotic for awhile. We have not told the “queen mother” (our 12 year old yorkie, Sadie) about the new arrival yet, but I’m sure she will waste no time taking charge.
