Tippy and Lily

From Kelly in Vermont: Here is a picture I took this week of Tippy on our walk. It’s a very end-of-summer picture if you ask me.

In March of this year, we adopted Lily from Last Hope Animal Rescue in Wantagh, NY. She is from Kentucky and is about 4 years old. I thought I would share this picture with you. She is normally a happy beagle but does not like taking a bath, but tolerates anything.

Tippy looks like he has so much happiness he can’t contain it all! Beautiful…just beautiful! I’ll bet he has you wrapped so tight around his little paw….just saying! OMG…I just looked again. I wanna’ hug him!
And Julie, your picture of Lily is just so…so…bath time’ish. I’ve got an almost unmanageable urge to give her a Beggin’ Strip. Truly. And Lily is clearly a Claytonian form of Beagle and therefore has mastered the sad look like only they can. Please..rescue her from the horrid bath!

My first thought on seeing both Tippy and Lily was AWWWWWW can they be any cuter?!
Both pictures are just precious!!!!!
I don’t know about all of you in the DD family, but it takes me a ton of pictures to get one or two decent ones…. Except for Shotzy the GS…. She’s our photogenic model! And all of the latest guest DDs have been well done!

On the pictures, apparently for me it’s a number approaching infinity. I have exactly ONE picture of the four beagles I’ve lived with that’s any good. I admire Laurie so much!

Dylan turns his head away immediately on seeing the camera, My daughter has a superior camera & she gets some better shots, I’ll have to beg a photo off her I think!

That look just breaks your heart, such torture to take a bath! hahaha. I bet she loves all towelling and treats after. Tippy and Lilly are so cute!
Do your beagles seem to recognize other beagles? Mine love meeting new dogs but seem to be more excited to see beagles. We met a new ‘lemon’ last night and both the new beagle and mine were just loving meeting each other. The owner thought it was a mix between a beagle and a brittany but that dog was 100% beagle if you ask me, looked exactly like mine but two colors.

My beaglemutt (think tan beagle, 30 lbs)enjoys meeting beagles and smaller dogs. Big dogs get a defensive big bark. 🙂

Willow likes other beagles but isn’t so keen on other dogs generally (defensive barking at a Yorkie? Oy). That said, our trips to the dog park are helping her to feel more comfortable around other non-beagle dogs. Last night she was running like a maniac with the Pointer Sisters (two 4-month-old German Shorthairs who were just whirlwinds).
I’ve seen both these expressions on Willow. Happy happy like smiling Tippy 99% of the time, but resigned like Lily at bathtime. What cuties!

I can’t tell you all how excited I am that my dear Tippy made it to the Daily Digital. I’ve been a faithful reader since 2005 and I nearly cried I was so excited! I have shared the page with everyone!
